Mataas ang paghanga ni Paula Shugart, president ng Miss Universe Philippines organization, para kay reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach.

Pagbida ni Shugart sa panayam ng 24 Oras, “Everyone should be very, very proud.  Pia represented Miss Universe very well, and she is so proud to be a Filipina. Whoever the next winner is, I said you make it your own because Pia had made it, had a very great reign.”

Pinuntahan daw ni Shugart ang beauty queen nang nag-iimpake ito ng gamit sa New York City bago umuwi sa Pilipinas.

Pag-alala niya, “She’s very sad that the reign is coming to an end. She was a little teary-eyed packing, but she said that ‘I’m glad that I’m going to the Philippines because it makes it a lot easier to do this.”

Matatapos man ang reign ni Pia, may tiniyak naman ang Miss Universe organization president.

Aniya, “I am sure that Pia has a great career ahead of her, and I don’t think we’re gonna be that far away.”

Ayon sa 24 Oras, maliban kay Pia, hanga rin si Shugart sa mala-world class na pag-ho-host ng Pilipinas sa naturang pageant at sa mga kandidata.

“We try to be fair so everybody can have a great, different experience,” wika niya.
