Francine Prieto is usually associated with comic roles in Bubble Gang and the infamous Jingle in Bahay Mo Ba ‘To? This time around, she leaves her comfort zone and introduces to us a mean Francine. Known as the airhead Jingle in Bahay Mo Ba ‘To?, Francine made her mark on national television by portraying a sexy and naïve lady whose greatest fantasy is to make Harold (the gay owner of a flower shop (played by Keempee de Leon) fall for her. Their tandem even produced a show on QTV entitled Bongga Ka Star. She is also a regular of one of the longest running gag show on TV- Bubble Gang. But this year, Francine is all set to give us another facet of her personality and prove that she is not just a comedienne but a real actress in every sense of the word. Kamandag and Enteng Kabisote After the end of Bahay Mo Ba ‘To? Francine admitted that she got depressed and somehow lost some of her motivation for her craft. “Nalulungkot ako dahil siyempre unang-una nawala 'yung Bahay Mo Ba ‘To?, sobrang loves na loves ko iyon eh. Tapos nawala biglaan. Pangalawa, parang hindi mo sure kung saan ka ilalagay. Alam mo iyon? Parang hindi mo alam kung ano 'yung (mangyayari).. ah siyempre kabado ako dahil ako 'yung breadwinner ng family 'di ba? Parang ano ba? Ano ba?,” shares the statuesque beauty. But her despair was soon replaced by excitement when two projects were offered to her – Kamandag, a television series with Richard Gutierrez and Enteng Kabisote a film offer with the legendary Vic Sotto. And as a change of pace, both of her roles in these projects are antagonistic. “Kasama ako sa Kamandag. Isa ako sa mga kontrabida. Reyna ako ng mga musang. Tapos mayroon akong ginagawa MMFF entry iyong Enteng Kabisote. Kontrabida rin,” beams Francine while describing her characters in her upcoming projects. A serious Francine She said that she welcomes the opportunity to play other roles besides being a comedienne, and hopes to do more interesting roles in the future. “Kasi ako lahat gusto kong subukan. Siyempre gusto kong mas maraming project kasi mas nago-grow ka doon bilang artista. Pangalawa, alam mo iyon, para makita rin nila na may talent ka hindi basta 'yung itsura mo lang, 'di ba may mapatunayan ka dito. I mean, hindi ko naman sinasabi na andoon na ako. Ang dami ko pang kailangan gawin para mapatunayan ko talaga na artista ako. Hindi naman ganoon kadali iyon eh.” But Francine assures her fans that she will continually be seen in Bubble Gang. In fact she is also busy doing their Bubble Gang 12th anniversary special. She unashamedly admits that her looks and body are her biggest contribution to the show. “Sa tingin ko iyon nga, parang iba rin 'yung dating ng babaeng maganda na sexy na nakakatawa. Kasi alam naman natin dati-rati kahit babae ka dapat pangit 'yung itsura mo o mukhang nakakatawa ka physically para magpatawa. But dito sa Bubble Gang hindi.
