A mix of positive and negative comments were received by Encantadia stars Gabbi Garcia and Ruru Madrid when the hit show announced its return, introducing its new breed of actors.
It came as a surprise to the new Ybarro, “After i-announce ‘yung cast ng [Encantadia], trending [si] Ybarro. Actually marami naman pong pumuri pero siyempre hindi rin natin maiiwasan na may mga mamba-bash kasi siyempre may kanya-kanya po silang bets kung sino ‘yung gusto nila para gumanap.”
Instead of dwelling on the negative reactions, the Kapuso actor pondered about the reviews and decided to use it for his betterment. “Sabi ko, sila na lang ‘yung maging inspiration ko para mas lalo ko pang pagandahin ‘yung sarili ko [at] mas lalo kong ibigay ‘yung best ko para dun sa role na ‘yun,” he said.
Her love interest in the show is Alena played by Gabbi, and like him, she too brushed the negativity aside to use it to her advantage. “Sabi ko nga sa sarili ko, ‘If ever I read negative comments, if the comments are wrong and parang below the belt, just ignore.”
On the other hand, she heartily welcomed the just compliments she received since the announcement. The actress added, “I think their criticisms can count so accept and try to learn from it. I look at the bashing part as a boost para mas ma-prove ko pa ‘yung sarili ko.”
Although hate comments can totally ruin one’s day, they have nothing but appreciation for the people who don’t believe in their capacity.
“Sa lahat ng bashers, thank you. ‘Yung pamba-bash nila, mas nakakatulong sa sarili ko kasi mas lalo kong pino-prove sa kanila na kaya ko. ‘Yung mga bagay na medyo masakit na salita sa akin, parang hindi ko na masyado iniisip ‘yun,” Ruru stated.
On the other hand, Gabbi asked the Encantadiks to see what’s in store for them: “Just wait and see, wala pa namang nangyayari about [Encantadia], I mean it’s just the announcement of the cast. Please give us a chance to give life to their favorite characters.”
