Zaido Files: Cervano

From StarStruck to starring in his own primetime soap, Aljur Abrenica embraces the action genre without any hesitations. Is the Ultimate hunk ready for the ultimate adventure of his life so far? In Zaido, Aljur plays Cervano, one of the three descendants of the Metal Hero Shaider and cousin to the characters that Dennis Trillo and Marky Cielo play. And like the two, he also has to endure the trainings that are expected of three leads in GMA-7’s latest Telebabad offering. Training to be a Zaido “Medyo hindi ko ko pa makuha ‘yung tumbling,” Aljur reveals with a laugh. “Bumabaliktad ako. Ang sakit sa pwet.” Like Dennis, Aljur shares that he enjoyed learning how to ride a motorbike best of all their trainings. And it shows that the young actor is very excited about the action series. “Napapanood ko ‘yung Shaider (noon), action talaga.” It’s very clear in the way Aljur says this that he is passionate about his first primetime project. “‘Yun ‘yung gusto ko eh. ‘Yun ‘yung inaabangan ko talagang gawin, action. ‘Yung labanan.” “Kahit excited ako, kinakabahan ako,” Aljur explains that because it is his first primetime project, he knows that much is expected off him. “Medyo kailangan maging seryoso at focused ako dito. “Kasi napapanood ko ‘yung Shaider, hindi siya basta-basta. Pagpapaguran namin ‘yung taping, lahat! Magtitiis kami para sa inyo. Abangan niyo po lahat ‘yan. Sigurado maaaliw kayo.” Aljur also says that he knows that a lot is riding on the show’s success, so he is ready to do whatever is needed for his role -- even doing his own stunts! “Siguro naman kung light lang, oo. Pero kung heavy na tumatalon na sa mga building. Siguro hindi na ipapagawa sa amin ‘yun kasi problema ‘yun kapag nagka-aksidente, ‘di ba?” Wearing the Part Aljur’s costume for Cervano’s time as a Galaxy Police has had a lot of tongues wagging since his first appearance wearing it during the press conference for Zaido. For Aljur, it may have set off a different reaction than intended, but he still found the costume nice. “Iniisip ko (lang) kung paano ko gagawin ‘yung stunts na ganu’n ‘yung suot,” Aljur laughs. “Kumportable naman siya. Sa totoo lang, sexy tingnan.” The only pitfall Aljur could see regarding the costume was how it would feel during tapings. “Kasi hindi mo masabi, kapag nagte-tape na ‘di ba papawisan.
