READ: Pinoy pride Lea Salonga shares story of being discriminated online

Award-winning theater actress Lea Salonga recounted a time when she was discriminated for being Asian on Twitter.
Lea, who brought so much pride in the Philippines by winning the Laurence Olivier Award and Tony Award in the '90s, tweeted her #MyYellowFaceStory in support of a public event that aims to advance race equity in the theater world.

"Beyond Orientalism: The Forum" will be held on May 2 at Fordham University's Pope Auditorium. It is organized by the Asian American Arts Alliance, Theatre Communications Group, Asian American Performers Action Coalition and the Alliance for Inclusion in the Arts, in association with the Fordham University Theatre Program.
The Broadway superstar also made headlines last month after she tweeted her opinion on the lack of decorum of theatergoers during the Manila run of Les Miserables.
