Celebrities pay tribute to the Queen of Philippine Cinema Gloria Romero
The Philippine entertainment industry was rocked by the news last night of the passing of the original Queen of Philippine Cinema, Gloria Romero.
The news was first broken by Widows' War actress Lovely Rivero in a social media post and later confirmed by Gloria Romero's daughter Maritess Gutierrez, who also shared the schedule for the public viewing that fans and the public can attend.
Since the confirmation, condolences have poured in from the many people that Gloria Romero has worked with during the course of her more than 70-year career. These include Star of the New Gen Jillian Ward, Barbie Forteza, and Gloria Romero's Palibhasa Lalake co-stars Amy Perez and Richard Gomez.

Jillian Ward
Star of the New Gen Jillian Ward uploaded a photo of Gloria Romero on her Instagram Story along with a broken heart emoji. Jillian worked with Gloria Romero in the Kapuso fantasy series Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko.
Barbie Forteza
Barbie Forteza also expressed her condolences on X, writing “This is so heartbreaking. Buong buhay ko pong ipagmamalaki na nakatrabaho ko po kayo. Rest in paradise, Ms. Gloria Romero.”
Lovely Rivero
Widows' War actress Lovely Rivero was the first to break the news of Gloria Romero's passing, posting on both her Facebook and Instagram accounts. In the post, Lovely wrote that the acclaimed actress would “never be forgotten.”
Amy Perez
Amy Perez posted an Instagram Reel of her with Gloria Romero, with the background music being “Special Memory” by The Company. Amy wrote that she will miss Gloria Romero and that she would love her forever. Amy and Gloria both stared together in the long-running sitcom Palibhasa Lalake.
Richard Gomez
Richard Gomez was another one of Gloria Romero's Palibhasa Lalake co-stars and the actor posted a throwback photo of him with the actress on his Instagram Story. Richard also wrote that it was “fun” working on several movies and Palibhasa Lalake with the acclaimed actress.

Shaina Magdayao worked with Gloria Romero in the film Tanging Yaman, and in an Instagram Story Shaina uploaded a clip of her with Gloria Romero along with text recalling that it was the veteran actress who taught her how to pray the rosary. Shaina also wrote that she was blessed to have shared the screen with Gloria Romero.

David Remo was another one of Gloria Romero's Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko co-stars, and he uploaded an Instagram Story recalling his experience working with the respected actress. David wrote that he came to love Gloria Romero like his own grandmother and that his time with her on the show was “full of laughter and love.” He also added that the acclaimed actress helped guide him and his fellow child stars to be better people.
