In a press conference, SP Escudero stated, βNagkasundo ang Senado na limitahan ang mga holidays.
βMahigit isang buwan na ang holiday sa buong bansa, which makes Philippine companies and workers less competitive.β
He added, βDi ba may holiday ang siyudad, may holiday ang munisipyo, may holiday ang probinsya. May national holiday, may religious holiday. Which makes us less competitive.β
βIsa yun sa mga pinapag-aaralan ko sa kanila ngayon sa komite. Ang problema lang away 'yan, e. Pero hindi naman kailangan gawin ngayon, simulan lang natin ang proseso.
As of writing, the name of Chiz is trending on the social media site X with netizens sharing their opinion about this proposal. Many are already expressing their disapproval of limiting the holidays in the Philippines.

Netizen
Here's a reaction from one netizen on Instagram.
The person stated, βGood afternoon, Mr. Senate President. I don't think there is a need to lessen the holidays as they are already few. It's just some holiday fall on the same months kaya akala ng iba marami iyon. Please don't let the few days where ordinary employees can relax and enjoy be removed. Most of all, please be reminded that maraming project hires/contractuals ang under sa government. These people do not have vacation leaves and sick leaves.
Reaction on X
A person posted on X, βWag Chiz. Yan na nga Lang nagpapasaya SA Amin Yun mga holiday Kaya please Lang po wagβ
Wrong
A netizen on X has a different view from SP Escudero and stated that he is probably looking at the wrong statistics.
βChiz Escudero is looking at the wrong statistics. Low salaries, overtime, toxic environments, and high workloads affect productivity. As an HR practitioner, we studied that productive hours are being done in 6 hours, and people needed to have a "break" to reset their focus.
