Chito Miranda, dinepensahan ang asawang si Neri Naig at ang viral '1k weekly meal plan'
Dinepensahan ng Parokya Ni Edgar frontman na si Chito Miranda ang kaniyang asawang si Neri Naig laban sa mga bumabatikos dito dahil sa umano'y “unrealistic” na weekly meal plan na ginawa nito na may budget lamang na PhP1,000.
Matatandaan na hindi naging kumbinsido ang ilang netizens sa ginawang budget ni Neri na ibinahagi niya sa kaniyang Facebook page. Katwiran ng netizens, hindi na umano kakasya ang 1,000-piso na pambili ng pagkain sa isang linggo dahil sa mahal ng mga presyo ng bilihin.
Ilang araw matapos mag-viral ang nasabing weekly meal plan ni Neri, sinagot ni Chito ang mga namaba-bash sa kaniyang misis sa social media.
Paliwanag ni Chito, matagal nang ginagawa ni Neri ang tumulong sa kaniyang followers online kung paano ang mag-budget.
Aniya, “A few weeks ago, Neri came up with a weekly meal plan, for a family of [two to four], working with a budget of only P2k. It was mostly for fun, but she also thought that it could be useful for those who might want to use it as a guide.
“Meals were cheap but relatively healthy and consisted mostly of vegetables. The 'pork sinigang' was mostly kangkong and sinigang mix, with a few strips of pork. It was detailed, and had the proper costing to back it up. She did the math.”
Dagdag pa ni Chito, “She also reminded those who will be using her meal plan to add portions as needed, depending on their family's size and appetite. Sinabi niya [rin] na the meal plan was merely a guide that they could use as a starting point. It was a big hit with her followers.
“Needless to say, it wasn't the same meal plan that we [follow] and [use] in our house (more than 10pax kami [rito] sa bahay and most of us are carnivorous), but she just wanted to let her followers know that it could be done (palagi kasi talagang napag-uusapan 'yun sa page niya).”
Dahil tingin umano ni Neri ay nakatulong siya sa kaniyang mga follower ang ginawa niyang meal plan na may PhP2,000 na budget, naisip nito na gumawa naman ng PhP1,000 weekly meal plan budget.
“Soon after, she told me that she wanted to make another meal plan, but this time, she'll try to keep it under P1k. Soon enough, she was able to come up with one, and kahit madaling araw na, she eagerly shared it with her followers (and again, madaming natuwa at nagpasalamat)
Pero dahil ang meal plan na ito ay ginawa ni Neri para sa avid followers ng kaniyang mga budgeting content, hindi na niya Ito idinetalye pa.
“Since it was intended for those who already knew what she was doing, she made the crucial mistake of not filling in the details. It was soon picked up by those who knew nothing of what she was doing, and was instantly bashed for it,” paglilinaw pa ni Chito.
Ayon pa sa OPM singer, nalulungkot siya sa naging reaksyon ng ilang netizens sa ginawang meal plan ng kaniyang misis na nais lang sanang makatulong sa mga tao.
Aniya, “Grabe 'di ba? Naisip lang naman ng asawa ko na baka sakaling makatulong 'yung meal plan niya sa mga tao that might find it useful, na-bash pa siya ng mga taong hindi naman nakasubaybay kung bakit ginagawa niya 'yung meal plan.”
Burado na raw ang nasabing weekly meal plan post ni Neri pero papalitan niya umano ito ng mas detalyadong budget.
“'Di bale...dinelete niya na po 'yung post niya, and she will make it more detailed for those who do not fully understand what she was doing,” ani Chito.
“What a cruel, cruel world,” pagkadismaya pa ng singer.
Saad pa ni Chito, “Anyway, for those who knew what Neri was doing, ayusin niya lang daw muna 'yung details para mas maging helpful 'yung guide nya.”
Mensahe pa niya sa mga nam-bash sa asawa, “For those who got angry and threw stones without knowing the details of what she was doing, good job sa inyo...your comments say more about your character than the person you are commenting on. Peace and good vibes to you too.”
Samantala, mapapanood si Chito bilang isa sa coaches ng The Voice Generations sa GMA kasama sina Billy Crawford, Julie Anne San Jose, Stell Ajero, at host nito na si Dingdong Dantes.

Neri's Gourmet Tuyo
One of Neri's first businesses is her gourmet tuyo, Neri's Gourmet Tuyo, which she introduced a couple of years ago.
Resellers
In one of her Instagram posts, Neri briefly shared how she started her gourmet tuyo business with a capital of P3,000. Since then, the business has grown and has seen a number of resellers and distributors nationwide. "Nagsimula ako sa mga bazaar tapos ganito palang kaliit ang gourmet tuyo ko. Nakakatuwa ang journey ng aking tuyuan. Dahil sa sipag at tyaga, nakapag invest na rin ako. Lahat yan ay nagsimula sa pagtutuyo ko. I am forever grateful,” she recounted.
Very Neri Beddings and Sleepwear
Neri has also delved into beddings and sleepwear with her brand, Very Neri.
Jaytee's Filipino Cuisine
Neri and Chito also co-own branches of the famous Jaytee's Filipino Cuisine in Tagaytay. “Dahil ang lakas ng Jaytee's, naisipan naming mag asawa na magtayo ng sariling branch ng Jaytee's!" Neri said in her post on July 2022.
Jeju Samgyupsal
Neri owns a Korean barbecue restaurant in Cebu, with her business partners, named Jeju Samgyupsal. Chito also co-owns one branch of the restaurant in the area.
Extraordineri Salon
In September 2022, Neri shared how she came to own a beauty salon after she acquired one that was about to close down.
"Nagpapasalon lang ako last December at kinausap ako ng staff na mawawalan na raw sila ng trabaho kase magsasara na ang salon na 'to. Baka kung pwede raw ako nang sumalo ng salon para di sila mawalan ng work. Ayun, nag-haggle talaga ako. At nagkasundo sa deal na kaya ko lang ilabas,” she narrated.
Neri's Cottage
Neri's Cottage in Alfonso, Cavite is one of the first of Neri's properties that she listed for rent. In an Instagram post in 2021, Neri shared how the property strengthened her resolve to pursue things she likes.
"D'yan nagsimula ang pagiging malakas ang loob ko. Kapag may gusto akong gawin, sinusubukan ko talaga. Paano ko malalaman kung para sa akin kung hindi ko susubukan?” she said.
Miranda's Beach Condo
In December 2021, Neri shared the news of their new investment, this time in the form of a condo unit on a beach in Batangas.
Baguio Rest House
One of Neri's latest properties for rent is their rest house in Baguio called the Hillside House.
"For 24 years, nangungupahan lang kami. Walang masasabing ancestral house kahit maliit, kahit nasa probinsya. Kaya palagi akong nagsusumikap, kasama ng asawa ko, na makapag ipon para makabili ng mga bahay para sa mga anak namin,” Neri said in her previous post.
