Jose Sixto Raphael “Dingdong” Gonzalez Dantes III has surprised us with his versatility through the years--from his days as a teen heartthrob to now an accomplished host, drama actor, businessman, and to top it all--Dingdong was recognized internationally when he won the Asian Star Prize in the 2020 Seoul International Drama Awards.
And on May 9, 2024, the multi-awarded actor again renewed his contract with the biggest broadcast network in the country, opening a new chapter in Dingdong's illustrious showbiz career. During the contract signing held at the GMA Network Center, GMA Network Chairman Atty. Felipe L. Gozon thanked Dingdong for choosing to remain as a loyal Kapuso.
Atty. Gozon said, "Ako na mismo magpapasalamat na pumirma siya ulit, ni-renew ang kaniyang contract sa GMA,"
"Sa tingin ko, 'pag magaling ka ay lalo kang gagaling 'pag sumama ka sa GMA. Ang exhibit one ay none other than Dingdong Dantes."

Dingdong Dantes
In August 1980, the world welcomed a young boy, who is set to carve his own remarkable path in show business and will be hailed as one of the A-list celebrities in the country. That boy is none other than Jose Sixto Raphael “Dingdong” Gonzalez Dantes III or to his fans, the incomparable Dindong Dantes.
Education
Education is very important for the Kapuso Primetime King and despite his hectic schedule, Dingdong graduated with a degree in Business Administration Major in Marketing Management at West Negros University in Bacolod City in 2014.
Walk of Fame
Together with Marian Rivera, Dingdong was inducted into the Walk of Fame in Eastwood City in 2008.
Hosting
Dingdong cemented his place as one of the top hosts in the country. Back in 2007, he, Jolina Magdangal, and Raymond Gutierrez bagged the recognition for Best Talent Show Program Hosts for their show 'StarStruck: The Next Level.'
Throughout the years, he added numerous trophies to his award haul. In October 2021 he won the Best Educational Show Host for his award-winning infotainment program, 'Amazing Earth' at the 34th Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Television.
The Kapuso A-list star also welcomed a new show this 2022, 'Family Feud.'
Television actor
Dingdong's star continues to shine as he dominates the world of television. He nailed his first acting award via his performance in the Pinoy adaptation of the classic Koreanovela series 'Stairway To Heaven' by claiming the Best Drama actor recognition in the 24th PMPC Star Awards for Television. In addition, Dingdong also earned a nomination for his performance in 'Stairway To Heaven' in the prestigious Asian Television Awards.
In the past years, he also earned recognitions for his acting in soaps like 'Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real' and 'Alyas Robinhood'.
Movies
The Kapuso Primetime King's performance on the big screen was also recognized. He won his first movie acting award via his role in 'Segunda Mano' at the 37th Metro Manila Film Festival.'
This 2022, he also won the Best Performance in a Male Lead Role award in the 6th Guild of Educators, Mentors and Students (GEMS) Hiyas ng Sining Awards for his Metro Manila Film Festival entry 'A Hard Day.'
Dingdong also won in other award-giving bodies for his other movie roles including: the 44th Box-Office Entertainment Awards (2013), Gawad Tanglaw sa Pelikula (2013) and he was named as one of the 5 Most Influential Film Actors of the Year in the 7th EdukCircle Awards (2017).
He was again recognized by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation Box Office Entertainment Awards in 2017 and 2018.

National Youth Commission
Dingdong Dantes wanted to pay back to his fellow kababayans through public service and he became the Commissioner-at-Large of the National Youth Commission.
Business
Dingdong is also determined to provide jobs to our fellow kababayans as well. He established his own companies like Agosto Dos Media and he is the president, co-founder, and CEO of Doorbell Technology Inc.
Nickelodeon
Dong received a priceless recognition from kids, after being voted the Favorite Actor of the Year in the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in November 2008.
International award
Another feather added to his cap is when he received the Asian Star Prize in the Seoul International Drama Awards last 2020.
Philippine Navy
Dingdong Dantes was promoted to Lieutenant Commander of the Philippine Navy in January 2020 and in September 2022, Dingdong attended the christening of two new fast attack interdiction crafts of the Navy.
In March 2024, the Kapuso actor became a Naval Combat Engineering Officer after getting his certificate of completion at the Brigade Training and Doctrine Center, Naval Combat Engineering Brigade Naval Station Jose Francisco, in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
In a report by Philippine Daily Inquirer, based on the actor's certificate of completion, he now has a rank of major.
PMA
Dingdong is an honorary member of the “Sanghaya” Class 2020 of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA). He shared the news on Instagram in December 2022, “I am humbled to be accepted as its honorary member,” he said.
Documentary
In May 2022, Dingdong and Marian showcased their first-ever documentary, MISS U: A Journey to The Promised Land, which Dingdong directed himself.
Nominations
Dingdong saw a number of nominations in prestigious awards last year, including Best Actor for his role in A Hard Day at the 45th Gawad Urian Awards and the 2022 FAMAS Awards.
Brighter 2023
Dingdong welcomed the year 2023 with an international recognition when he tied with Piolo Pascual for Best Actor at the 2022 TAG Awards Chicago. Dingdong won for his role in the mini-series, I Can See You: AlterNate.
Rewind
Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera are basking in the phenomenal success of their 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival entry 'Rewind', which is the first Filipino film to earn P900 million in the box office.
In addition, the Kapuso Primetime King was awarded the Best Actor trophy at the inaugural Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) in February 2024 for his performance in 'Rewind.'
In the subsequent months, DongYan continues to reap one award after the other. They will be recognized on May 11, 2024 at the Box Office Entertainment Awards 2024 as they will be awarded with the Box Office Phenomenal Stars of Philippine Cinema recognition.
Meanwhile, this coming May 26, they will also receive the Bida sa Takilya award at the 72nd Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards, as well.
