Iya Villania now a Kapuso

Iya shares her thoughts on coming back and where you can catch her this week.

Iya Villania says, "it’s nice to be back" in GMA.

The TV-host actress inked an exclusive contract with the Kapuso Network on October 29. Present at the event were GMA Chairman and CEO, Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, SVP for Entertainment, Lilybeth G. Rasonable, VP for Entertainment, Marivin T. Arayata, VP for Drama, Redgie Acuna-Magno, AVP for Alternative Productions, Gigi Santiago-Lara, Corporate Communications Head, Angel Javier Cruz and Iya’s manager, Arnold Vegafria.

Iya started her acting career in GMA. She first appeared in 'Walang Hanggan' with Oyo Boy Sotto and Valerie Concepcion in 2003. She then appeared in the teen-oriented show 'Click' in 2004, where she met her present husband, Kapuso TV host Drew Arellano.

When asked how she feels about returning to GMA, Iya said, “It’s gonna be a huge change, but you know, I guess change is the only thing permanent in this world and it’s always nice to ruffle up the feathers kaya nakaka-excite. Of course, it’s always nice to make new friends. It’s one thing I’m definitely looking forward to.”
What kind of projects should viewers expect from Iya as an exclusive Kapuso talent?

She answered, “’Yan ang dapat nating abangan. Surprise na lang ‘yun. But you can definitely watch out for me on…this is so weird for me to say, but it’s definitely true; I’m gonna be there sa 'Sunday All Stars' this Sunday.”

Iya added, “I’d love to do lifestyle here, variety; I’d still love to sing and dance and of course, I just want to host more.”

Did her husband Drew influence her decision to transfer to GMA?

“I wouldn’t say that he is a huge part as to why I’ve decided to come back, but of course he knows about this. When we were negotiating and I was coming to terms with coming back here, of course, siya talaga ‘yung kausap ko,” stated the TV host-actress.

Entertainment SVP Lilybeth Rasonable is glad to have Iya back on board. She said, “’Pag may nagbabalik, it’s always exciting. It’s a homecoming for her and we welcome her with open arms.”
