Korean actress Lee Joo-sil passed away at 81.

Known for her role in Squid Game season 2 as the mother of Wi Ha-jun's character, actress Lee Joo-sil passed away on Sunday, February 2.

According to her agency, 1230 Culture, she died after battling stomach cancer.

Reports revealed that she died at her family home in the city of Uijeongbu, Seoul.

Her wake will take place at Severance Hospital funeral hall in Sinchon, Seoul; and her funeral will be held on February 5.

Previously, Lee Joo-sil was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 1993, but she luckily overcame it.

However, in November 2023, she was diagnosed with stomach cancer.

She also appeared in popular dramas and films, including Train to Busan, The Uncanny Counter, and Beauty and Mr. Romantic.
