Rocco Nacino on his long-term goal: 'I'm going to make sure I'll be a pediatrician'

Sa ilang taong pananatili niya sa showbiz mula nang tanghalin siyang Second Prince ng StarStruck V, iba-ibang roles na ang nagampanan ni Rocco Nacino, mapa-telebisyon man o pelikula.

Ngayon ay gaganap siya bilang si Joseph, isang sundalong mag-iiba ang buhay pagkatapos mapasakamay ng mga rebelde, sa teleseryeng Hiram na Alaala. Makakasama niya rito sina Dennis Trillo, Kris Bernal at Lauren Young.

 

Bukod dito ay ipapalabas na rin ang kanyang indie film na Ibong Adarna sa October 1. Regular din siya sa Sunday All Stars.

 

Kahit kaliwa't kanan ang projects ni Rocco, may iba pa siyang nais makamit - ang maging isang doktor.

 

"I'm going to make sure I'll be a pediatrician by x years. I love kids, I have a special connection with them. So why not turn it into a profession?" he declares during the press conference of Hiram na Alaala last September 11.

 

Dagdag pa niya, "Sometimes it's good to try different things, be spontaneous, just to make life exciting. Being spontaneous for me is going back to medical school siguro five years from now."

 

He also shares that he is now starting to save up for his future, a trait that he got from his parents.

 

"I'm at my prime now, I'm 27. Iba na 'yung thinking ko, everything's pang long-term na. I'm more disciplined on everything, on how I spend my money. Thinking for the future lang, getting ready na. So ipon ng ipon, trabaho ng trabaho. And I got that from my parents, their upbringing, kung paano mag-value ng pera."

 

Todo kayod si Rocco mula noon hanggang ngayon, pero aminado rin ang aktor na minsan na siyang nakaramdam ng burnout.

 

"One time, I had like five projects. I was doing Yesterday's Bride, Bayan Ko, I was shooting My Lady Boss with Marian Rivera, I was doing rakets, and I was doing Party Pilipinas. Super burned out. I was traveling from Pampanga to Laguna every other day. I was just sleeping in the car."

 

What did he do to de-stress?

 

"After that, what I do is I travel. That time, nagpunta ako sa Cambodia nang mag-isa."
