Nora Aunor receives 2014 Gawad Plaridel Award

During her speech, the Superstar said that receiving this year’s Gawad Plaridel award is one of the most important events in her life. She added that though she only reached second grade, the esteemed recognition from UP made her feel like a UP graduate.

Last August 27, Superstar Nora Aunor went up onstage at the UP Film Center to receive her Gawad Plaridel Award.

The Gawad Plaridel Award is a distinct honor given by the University of the Philippines to outstanding media practitioners. Nora Aunor was recognized in for her remarkable contributions to different fields of art, especially transmedia.

During her speech, the Superstar said that receiving this year’s Gawad Plaridel award is one of the most important events in her life. She added that though she only reached second grade, the esteemed recognition from UP made her feel like a UP graduate.

Recently, Nora Aunor was named “Alagad ng Sining ng Mamamayan” by the Quezon City Public School Teachers Association and the Alliance of Concerned Teachers. She also won Best Actress at the Cinemalaya Awards 2014 for her performance in the Joel Lamangan film, Hustisya.

She is currently shooting the Adolf Alix, Jr. film, The Whistleblower. Kapuso stars Ricky Davao, Benjamin Alves and Pancho Magno are also part of the cast.
