Zsa Zsa Padilla, Boy2 Quizon remember Dolphy on his 12th death anniversary
The family and friends of comedy legend Dolphy went to the Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City last July 10 to mark the 12th death anniversary of the showbiz icon.
Dubbed by his colleagues in the industry as the King of Comedy, Dolphy was born on July 25, 1928 and passed away in 2012 due to multiple organ failure and complications from pneumonia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
His grandson Boy2 Quizon paid tribute to his lolo through a simple message on Instagram. He said, “Remembering Tatay Kevin's 12th Death Anniversary.
“We miss you, our Tatay Kevin.”
Kevin is Dolphy's character of Dolphy in his defunct sitcom Home Along Da Riles.
Meanwhile, singer Zsa Zsa Padilla also visited the grave of her “lovey” saying, “It's Dolphy's 12th year death anniversary today. RIP, Lovey. You are always in our thoughts and prayers.”
In addition, several of Boy2's co-star in Home Along Da Riles also dropped by the Heritage Memorial Park including Vandolph Quizon, Maybelyn Dela Cruz, Smokey Manaloto, Claudine Barretto, and Pepito Manaloto star Nova Villa.
One of Dolphy's multi-talented children, Epy Quizon, shared during the grand media conference of his latest project Pulang Araw that he accepted the role of Julio Borromeo, the dad of Adelina (Barbie Forteza) and Teresita (Sanya Lopez), to honor his late father.
In an interview with GMA News Online, the versatile TV-movie actor explained, “Medyo malapit sa 'kin, sa puso ko dahil ang tatay ko ay isang mananayaw ng bodabil.”
“At syempre, pinagdaanan ng tatay ko 'yung panahon ng giyera 'di 'ba. Naikukuwento niya sa 'min.”
Also part of the much-awaited GMA Prime series showing on July 29 are David Licauco and Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards, and award-winning actor Dennis Trillo in a very special role.
