'Pulang Araw' actor Alden Richards delivers thought-provoking poem in 'Araw ng Kagitingan' tribute video
In honor of the Araw ng Kagitingan, also known as The Day of Valor, Pulang Araw actor Alden Richards delivers a thought-provoking poem in a tribute video highlighting Filipinos' sacrifices and love for the country.
The annual Day of Valor, which takes place on April 9th, commemorates the bravery of Filipino soldiers who fought during World War II and serves as a reminder of the country's resilience and unwavering spirit in every difficulty and challenge.
The commemoration video shows significant events in Philippine history, from World War II to the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the daily hardships that Filipinos confront.
In Alden's poem that reads, “Ipaglalaban kita, bayang sinilangan, hanggang sa ang karapatan mo'y hindi na maapakan pa, hanggang sa makamit mo ang tunay na kalayaang inaasam,” resonated deeply with the Filipinos across the nation.
The video also showcases Alden as Eduardo Smith in the upcoming historical drama Pulang Araw, which will convey familiar stories of your grandfathers, grandmothers, and other veterans who witnessed the Japanese occupation of the Philippines.
Joining Alden in Pulang Araw are his fellow Kapuso stars including Barbie Forteza, Sanya Lopez, David Licauco, and Dennis Trillo.
