The anticipation is high for GMA's newest powerhouse teleserye.

Award-winning film and teleserye director Zig Dulay is back with the science fiction series My Guardian Alien.

Almost a year after GMA Network's historical fantaserye Maria Clara at Ibarra--starring Barbie Forteza, Dennis Trillo, Julie Anne San Jose, and David Licauco--Zig is now set to work with one of the biggest stars of GMA Network, Marian Rivera.

In anticipation of their newest project together, the director uploaded a photo of him on Instagram together with Marian.

He wrote, “Lagpas pa sa pangarap.” Zig added, “Minsan lang mangyari 'to, ni sa panaginip ay hindi ko naisip na makakasama ko sa proyekto ang [nag-iisang] Marian Rivera."

Direct Zig's heartwarming post reached netizens and touched their feelings with his genuineness in working with Marian.

They also shared their excitement about Zig's upcoming science fiction series with Marian, who will also be joined by phenomenal Filipino actors Gabby Concepcion, Max Collins, Gabby Eigennman, and Raphael Landicho among others.

Supporters wrote, “Excited [na ang] lahat sa pagbabalik ng queen of primetime.”

No specific dates have been announced, but My Guardian Alien is set to premiere this 2024.

My Guardian Alien is the official comeback of Marian Rivera in primetime who recently starred in the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival entry and highest-grossing Filipino film Rewind with her husband Dingdong Dantes.

Meanwhile, Zig Dulay also directed an entry at the annual MMFF, Firefly, starring Alessandra de Rossi and rising child star Euwenn Mikaell. It was the official entry of GMA Pictures at the film festival.

Firefly bagged three awards at the MMFF Gabi ng Parangal last December 2023: Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Euwenn Mikaell as the Best Child Performer.

It was also the most-awarded film in the recently concluded Manila International Film Festival 2024 held in Hollywood, California, where it was hailed for having the Best Picture.

Zig Dulay was awarded the Best Director during the MIFF, together with Angeli Atienza who won the Best Screenplay while Alessandra de Rossi was named as the Best Supporting Actress for Firefly.
