Michael V. honored by the Film Development Council of the Philippines
Multi-awarded comedian, creative director, and content creator Michael V. was among those honored by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) during the closing ceremony of the 3rd Philippine Film Industry Month last September 29.
Direk Michael joined an elite list of comedy icons in show business recognized by the FDCP that includes the late comedy legend Dolphy, It's Showtime host Vice Ganda, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, Eugene Domingo, and Comedy Concert Queen Aiai Delas Alas.
The award-winning Kapuso personality attended the event with his wife Mic Test Entertainment officer Carol Bunagan.
In a short speech, the Kapuso ace comedian talked about the challenges of doing comedy now. He stated, “Every year, every generation po, mas mahirap magpatawa. We get more and more restrictions, when it comes to making jokes and punchlines., “Ako, personally. Kahit ganoon ang sitwasyon asahan n'yo po na hindi ako titigil ng hahanap ng paraan para kahit papaano mapangiti, mapatawa kayo lahat.”
Bitoy added, “Well, it turns out comedy is not as universal as before and what's funny to some, may not be funny to others anymore. Pero, ang totoo komedyante po ay hindi magpapapigil. We learn, we adapt and we persevere."

Michael V. is the genius behind some iconic comedy shows of GMA-7 like Bubble Gang and Pepito Manaloto: Tuloy Ang Kuwento. He has also been recognized internationally before by winning at least three times in the Asian TV awards for the category of Best Comedy Performance by an Actor.
