Karen Bordador on accepting hosting gig at Seo In-guk fan meet: 'Challenge accepted'

Isang malaking sorpresa para sa DJ na si Karen Bordador ang pagiging host niya sa katatapos lamang na "First Asia Fan Meeting Tour" sa Manila ng South Korean actor na si Seo In-guk. Ito ay ginanap noong August 12 sa New Frontier Theater sa Quezon City.

Sa kanyang latest vlog, ikinuwento ni Karen ang nangyari sa fan meet kung saan, aniya, noong araw lang din na iyon niya natanggap ang alok na maging host ng naturang event.

"It was actually a big challenge for me because, well, I didn't know I was gonna host it. It was such a huge surprise," sabi niya.

"But normally, if someone asked me to host a day before or on the day itself I would say no. But for some reason, I don't know, like my instinct said, 'Go for it.' And also a lot of people really did message me to be part of this... only on the day itself, a few hours before the event."

Nagbigay ng tatlong dahilan si Karen kung bakit tinanggap niya pa rin na maging host kahit na inalok ito sa kanya sa mismong araw ng event.

Para kay Karen, isang malaking pribilehiyo ang maging bahagi ng kauna-unahang fan meet ni Seo In-guk sa Southeast Asia.

"It is gonna be a huge privilege to even be part of Seo In-guk's first-ever fan meet, that's one. I'm gonna meet a K-pop star, that's the second reason why. And third, because my sisters are such huge K-pop fans and a couple of my best friends, and I would love to send them all the photos and videos, which I did by the way when I was there."

Bago pa man maging host si Karen ng nasabing event, una nang inanunsyo ng concert organizer na EPIC Event na ang aktres at vlogger na si Kristel Fulgar ang magiging host ng fan meet. Pero dahil sa "hindi inaasahang pangyayari" hindi na ito natuloy at si Karen na ang pumalit sa aktres na host sa event.

Ayon kay Karen, noong una ay may pag-aalinlangan siyang tanggapin ang hosting dahil hindi siya handa sa kanyang susuotin, wala rin siyang stylist at make up artist, at hindi niya pa nakikita ang script.

"Ako, as the MC, as the one who' s gonna lead the entire event you wanna make sure that the star is gonna be so comfortable with you because you know where is gonna head the whole event."

Kuwento ni Karen, 12:30 noong Sabado nang makatanggap siya ng tawag at messages na nagsasabi na kailangan siya sa isang event. "Until I got the call and then the person said, 'It's gonna be today! Can you make it?' And I'm like, 'Ha? But I had so much plans for today.' That was I was thinking."

Dagdag pa ni Karen, mayroon lamang siya noong isang oras para magdesisyon kung tatanggapin ba ang pagiging host.

"Okay, challenge accepted. Bahala na si Lord. I just really prayed to have a good show. Then, he also said kasi last time [Park Bom's fan concert in Manila][ na-impress daw 'yung Korean management and I'm so grateful for this which is why I really push to do as much as I could for that event even though I really didn't have much time to rehearse. I didn't even see the script yet. I just told myself, 'Let's do this.'"
