Max Eigenmann is Best Actress at AIFFA
Filipinos have something to be proud of yet again as another Filipina actress' skills has been recognized abroad.
In one of her more recent posts on her Instagram account, Max Eigenmann, one of the stars of the upcoming The Missing Husband, proudly showed off her Best Actress trophy from the Asean International Film Festival and Awards. The festival recognized her for her work in Kargo, a 2022 Cinemalaya finalist where Max played Sara, a woman bent on exacting revenge on who she believes are her family's murderers. At the time of its release, reviews of the film described Max's performance as its anchor.
Max herself is a Cinemalaya staple, taking part in previous finalist films like Dagitab, Distance, Lockdown, and 12 Weeks.
In her caption to the post, Max expressed her gratitude to the Kargo team, describing her win as a win for all of them. In the comment section, members of the Eigenmann acting dynasty, as well as other Kapuso stars, congratulated her on her success.
Max's success on the international stage is just the latest recognition that a Kapuso star or production has received in the past couple of years. Back in April, Maria Clara at Ibarra bagged the Bronze Award from the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards. The show won the award for the Entertainment Program: Drama category.
Other trophies GMA won at the festival include Gold Awards for Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho and The Atom Araullo Specials. Stand for Truth was also given a Bronze Award.
Last year, Limitless: A Musical Trilogy was also awarded the Silver Award for the Entertainment Special: Variety Special category at the 2022 New York Festivals TV and Film Awards.
