GMA News personalities post reminders to stop spread of COVID-19
Last night, President Rodrigo Duterte announced via a televised address that the government will be placing Metro Manila under “community quarantine."
The said measure that will last from March 15, 2020 to April 14, 2020 aims to contain, if not stop the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 that has been officially declared as “pandemic” by the World Health Organization (WHO).
In a tweet, multi-awarded news anchor and documentarist Kara David stressed that contracting COVID-19 is “not a death” sentence and there are more patients diagnosed with the disease that fully recover.
“Being diagnosed with COVID 19 is NOT a death sentence. If you're healthy, 98% of the time, you will make a full recovery - Dr. Edsel Salvana, infectious disease specialist”

1. Heighten vigilance, but don't panic.
2. Don't hoard supplies: you'll be putting everyone, including yourself, in more danger.
3. Avoid spreading unverified information online.
4. Stay updated through trusted sources.
He also stressed that the government should implement measures to assist those underprivileged folks who don't have the means to protect themselves from COVID-19.
Atom said, “Sadly but unsurprisingly, the underprivileged are most at risk. Those of us with the means should do everything we can to stem the spread of COVID-19. Hoping authorities have adequate measures in place to ease the inevitable burden on the poor.”

On an individual level, minimize the risk of getting sick:
1. Wash your hands with soap & water properly and frequently.
2. If that's unavailable, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
3. Practice coughing etiquette. Use a disposable tissue or cough/sneeze into your elbow rather than hand.

4. Try to boost your immune system. Get enough rest.
3. The critically ill, the elderly,

immunocompromised, or those that have a serious chronic illness should go to the hospital.
As part of a community, we should try and slow down the spread of the virus and not overburden our healthcare system:

1. Practice social distancing. Avoid unnecessary travel.
2. If you have mild symptoms but are not critically ill, stay at home.
