Sunshine Cruz diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis autoimmune disease
Sunshine Cruz shared that she has been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, just a few days after walking in the Bench Body of Work fashion show.
The 47-year-old actress revealed on social media that she has myasthenia gravis (MG), a condition that impacts voluntary muscles, including those in the limbs, eyes, mouth, and throat.
"Myasthenia gravis is a chronic neuromuscular disease that causes weakness in the voluntary muscles. Voluntary muscles include muscles that connect to a person's bones, muscles in the face, throat, and diaphragm," a US-based health website, The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke stated.
"It's been a real roller coaster these past months. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called myasthenia gravis which has made building muscle a real struggle," Sunshine admitted.
She added, "But I'm so thankful for the strength I've found. Walking for Bench was a powerful reminder of what's possible even when things are tough. To all my fellow moms and Gen Xers, never give up on your dreams."
Sunshine was among the Gen X ladies who walked in the Bench Body of Work fashion show, alongside Ina Raymundo and Priscilla Meirelles. Her eldest daughter, Angelina, also graced the runway during the show at Mall of Asia Arena on March

Asia Pacific Medical Center opened just weeks ago and literally everyone here is so nice. I was in the ICU for the past few days doing blood transfusions (thank you to my mom for getting in touch w Red Cross ) and yesterday I was finally transferred to a regular room.”
Based on Saab's condition, she was suffering from Meckel diverticulum, a common congenital abnormality of the small intestine caused by incomplete obliteration of the vitelline (omphalomesenteric) duct, according to information from the National Library of Medicine.
Most of the patients with Meckel diverticulum are asymptomatic, with the abnormality discovered only incidentally in imaging studies. The most common symptom developed is painless rectal bleeding.
