Sheryl Cruz clarifies that she's not discouraging her daughter Ashley from joining showbiz, "I just want her to be properly geared because..."
Proud single mom Sheryl Cruz expressed her support to daughter Ashley if ever she decides on joining show business.
“It's not like I'm turning down when she asks if she can be an actress, no,” she tells GMANetwork.com.
“I just want her to get her diploma but I told her that if she still wants to do show business, I will support her 110%.
“I just want her to be properly geared because it's a different generation nowadays.
“It's better to have a fallback than relying on just one profession alone although it's your passion.”
Ashley, who recently graduated, is currently living in San Francisco with her father Norman Bustos, Sheryl's ex-husband.
The actress further explained that her daughter isn't too far off from following her footsteps.
“You know, she's really artistic because she can do fine arts, she can sing very well, she has a beautiful face, and she can do stage.
“I know that whatever she desires or course she plans to take up along the way, in the future, would be a good one and I would be supportive of her.”
Sheryl Cruz currently stars in the GMA Afternoon Prime, Magkaagaw.
