Twenty-three-year-old Mara Alberto joins the star-studded cast of upcoming sexy comedy show A1 Ko Sa’yo. Among her co-stars are Jaclyn Jose, Gardo Versoza, Roi Vinzon, and Solenn Heussaff.
As this is her first acting role and will share scenes with veterans, she admitted to having first day jitters.
“Hindi ako makatulog. Kinakabahan ako,” she told GMANetwork.com during the show’s pilot episode taping.
Mara, however, draws inspiration from the late German Moreno, the person responsible for launching her showbiz career.
“Nag-au-audition ako sa isang indie [film noon] staring Ms. Nora Aunor. [Binisita po siya ni] Kuya Germs [sa set]. Tapos nakita ako ni Kuya Germs [at tinanong] kung gusto ko po raw mag-artista.Kinuha niya ‘ko para maging co-host sa Walang Tulugan,” she shared.
As one of the more recent and last talents Kuya Germs discovered, she is determined to make him proud and honor his legacy by doing well.
“Masarap sa feeling [to be discovered by him] kasi si Kuya Germs 'yun eh. Hindi ko naman ine-expect na papansinin niya ‘ko… [I will never forget that he taught us the importance of] pagta-tiyaga. Sabi niya na huwag susuko kasi ['yun 'yung way para] makuha mo 'yung gusto mo… Mas na-cha-challenge ako [na galingan],” she added.
A1 Ko Sa 'yo airs on GMA Network on June 2.
