The court battle between estranged married couple, Derek Ramsay and Mary Christine Jolly is escalating.
After filing a complaint in violation of RA 9262 or Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Act against Ramsay, Jolly filed another complaint at the Paranaque City Prosecutor’s Office. She filed a concubinage complaint against Ramsay and his former girlfriend, actress Angelica Panganiban.
According to Jolly, besides having a relationship, Derek and Angelica lived together from 2008 to 2013. She plans to use Panganiban’s interview with Star Studio magazine published on April 2013 as evidence. In the said interview, Panganiban opened up about her relationship with Ramsay.
“I just got a hold of this article recently and that is why I filed, because otherwise I really didn’t have any concrete proof until recently,” Jolly told 24 Oras.
According to Ramsay’s camp, “The move is but another ploy to harass Derek to give in to her demands, since she failed in the VAWC case. It is also a continuing effort to try Derek by publicity. It is so unfortunate though that she had to drag Angel into her witch hunt.”
Atty. Francis Aguilar, Panganiban’s counsel sent this statement: “Angelica has no comment as of this time, as she has not received a copy of the complaint. She will respond accordingly once she sees the complaint. Thank you.”
