"Nung contestant pa ako? Lagi akong kinakabahan."
Nung time na magti-trim down na to the Final 30. "Kasi kinailangan ko talaga ng bonggang confidence sa song-and-dance number ko doon ng 'Lady Marmalade'," she tells us. "Tapos ang saya-saya ko sa performance ko."
Pero it wasn't enough.
But she was able to get a second chance. Sa mga fans ng StarStruck noong time na 'yun, they would remember Chariz getting eliminated noong New Year's Eve of 2007—and then again during the Chinese New Year in February!
Still, Chariz was able to prove na hindi be-all and end-all ang StarStruck para sa kanya. She's starred in hits like Codename: Asero, Zaido, Adik sa 'Yo—and now, she'll be part of her first Koreanovela remake, ang Full House.
Direk Rommel is the in-house director of StarStruck who serves as a father figure to most of the graduates of the competition. "Ang totoong laban, after StarStruck."
The young comedienne tells us na 'yun daw ang nag-push sa kanyang magpursige. "Siguro nga, may pag-asa pa." And she adds, "na mayroon naman."
If given the chance to go back 2-3 years ago, Chariz says wala na siyang babaguhin pa.
And who would change that nga naman?
Mapapanood si Chariz every Saturday sa Startalk, and sa GMA Telebabad with Full House na magsisimula na sa November 30!
StarStruck V airs every Saturday after Pinoy Records and Sundays after Kap's Amazing Stories. Or get up to date with what's happening with the new batch of hopefuls through ShoutOut: the StarStruck Dailies Mondays through Fridays bago mag-Family Feud.
