Kyle Jennermann or Kulas, the Canadian guy behind the popular travel vlog Becoming Filipino, has been exploring the culture and natural beauty of the Philippines for six years now.
Over time he has amassed a significant number of followers on YouTube and simultaneously garnered millions of views for his videos, as Filipinos and foreign individuals enjoy watching his adventures in the country.
Recently, Kulas moved from Cagayan de Oro to Davao Oriental. And while settling down into his new home and new life with his close Filipino friends, Kulas also began exploring the stunning natural wonders in the province.

Kulas started exploring Davao Oriental using the Filipino-made paddle boards he purchased.

Kulas and his pals first explored the massive river system in Cateel, Davao Oriental.

According to Kulas, he also enjoyed circumnavigating Cabugao island and floating around on his paddle board while looking at the lovely corals and fish underneath.
Lake Carolina
Lake Carolina is one of the most popular tourist sites in Davao Oriental.
Magical!
Kulas was clearly impressed by the beauty of Lake Carolina. Part of his Facebook post read: “THIS PLACE IS SO BEAUTIFUL. THE WATER IS MAGICALLY CLEAR! The locals call it a lake, but it may in fact be a unique tidal spring.”
Blue waters
Kulas also said that the deeper you go, the darker the blue is in the waters of Lake Carolina.
Enjoying a quick swim
Kulas describes Lake Carolina as “one of the most beautiful, refreshing, and mysterious swims you can find in the province of Davao Oriental”, and highly encourages everyone to explore and enjoy it.
Very accessible
Lake Carolina is located near the main road, that's why it's very accessible to tourists and locals.
Pujada Bay
Kulas also stopped by the Pujada Bay in Mati City, which was recently included in a list of "World's Most Beautiful Bays".
Coconut Trees
Kulas said on his Facebook post: “It is big, clean, full of coconut trees, and just such a mesmerizing place to watch the sun come up or go down."

Kulas also shared a photo of himself enjoying the sunrise at Mount Hamiguitan.
Avatar Hangout Spot
He refused to give the real name of the falls and chose to call it “Avatar Hangout Spot” instead. Kulas said he's mesmerized and intrigued by how the water trickles down the unique mossy rock formation.
Having a blast
