Aubrey Miles and Troy Montero cancelled their wedding due to COVID-19
Aubrey Miles and Troy Montero made a bittersweet revelation through their vlog that they had to cancel their wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Aubrey and Troy have been together for 18 years this year. While the couple had chosen not to tie the knot in the previous years, they were able to raise a happy and beautiful family with their children, Maurice, Hunter Cody, and Rocket:
In their vlog uploaded on their YouTube channel on June 4, 2021, Aubrey and Troy admitted that people have been asking or urging them to get married but they were very resolute about nurturing their relationship and their family on their own terms.
Aubrey explained, “Why fix it if it's not broken? We have nothing to fix. We're happy, we're good, we're satisfied with our relationship. Everything that we want, nasa gusto namin. 'Yung wedding is not really on our list before nga. 'Di ba? Parang hindi siya 'yung talagang wish list namin kapag may mga list sa relationship. Because ganun lang talaga kami mag-isip.”
However, they also revealed that they have actually decided to tie the knot, seeing their wedding as their next big adventure as well as dedicating it to their children.
Troy said, “Of course the kids, deep down, I know they want us to get married, you know. And now that they're getting older, so when they say that, it has a little bit more meaning. So we're like, 'Guys, at least now you're old enough, you'd appreciate it when we do 'cause you're gonna be there.'”
The two had actually started planning their wedding. Their ceremony was supposed to happen in Batanes on April 23, 2020. They were keen on holding a very intimate wedding, only inviting Troy's mom, his brother KC Montero and wife Stephanie Dods, Aubrey's mom, and their three kids.
They've also settled most of the payments and finalized the other details of their ceremony. They were also scheduled for a European tour for their pre-wedding getaway and prenuptial shoot.
Unfortunately, all their plans had to be put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
While Aubrey began to wonder if it was a sign that they shouldn't tie the knot after almost two decades, Troy claimed that he is actually considering other options.
He said, “Everyone has his own reason for getting married, and for us, I was thinking, 'No, we don't need to do a civil [wedding] during the pandemic.' But now that I think about it, maybe, maybe there's a chance. I think it could possibly happen.”
