Joyce Pring reflects on her first Christmas with Juancho Trivino

By Bianca Geli
Newlyweds Joyce Pring and Juancho Trivino are spending their first Christmas as a married couple. Here's how they've spent the holidays together.

Kapuso TV host Joyce Pring and husband Juancho Trivino are celebrating their first Christmas together as a couple, and one of their preparations for the holiday season is attending their Sunday worship.

The current pandemic has brought restrictions for in-person church gatherings, but luckily, many places of worship have started opening their doors again for in-person ceremonies.

Joyce shared her experience attending a worship service for the first time in nine months and her preparation for the upcoming holidays.

"Over the weekend, Juancho and I got to attend our first in-person Sunday worship in 9 months. It was emotional, to say the least, and we both just kept crying remembering what we've gone through in the past year, and how God has been faithful amidst it all."

She also opened up about feeling down from the recent tragedies happening in the country.

"The past few days have been a slowdown season for us and so we've been out of loop from social media and the news (even, I just found out this morning, losses in our close circle of friends). As I write this my heart mourns for the many pains and injustices that surround us.

"It sometimes feels like the world is burning right in front of our eyes, and we're all just trying to make sense of it -- of the anger, resentment, moroseness, defeat that we all carry heavily in our hearts."

Joyce also reminded her followers about the true meaning of Christmas, "But what a great reminder as well of WHY Christmas is so important.

"Jesus came to a broken world - a time much like ours, where violence, despotism and sin reigned. He came to save us and offer a message of Hope: that despite all THIS, despite the many heart wrenching images, news, and experiences we have on this Earth - there is an eternity of peace and joy that awaits those who trust in Him, because of His finished work on the Cross.

"I pray that that's what we hold onto right now - that there will be justice and there will be peace. God will keep His promises.

"Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. Revelation 21:3, ESV."

Joyce also recently showed appreciation for her husband Juancho, and posted a recent photo of them enjoying a "Sunday slowdown" date in a coffee shop.

"Sunday slowdowns are best spent with you.

"Grateful for my husband who hasn't only been working hard in his own craft - but also manages to take care of me, check up on me, encourage me, and bring me to and from work even on his busy days.

"Can't imagine being able to achieve everything that I have in the past few weeks without your selfless dedication, my love. Tapos may time pa yan ayain ako mag date and manuod ng Start-Up. Thank You Lord for such a beautiful blessing... indeed, it's worth all the wait."

Joyce and Juancho tied the knot on February 9, 2020 at The Sofitel Manila. Check out their wedding photos here:
