Chito Miranda reveals "investing" in wife Neri Naig

Chito Miranda explains how Neri Naig has kept their family financially secure throughout the pandemic.

Parokya Ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda Jr. shared his appreciation for his wife, Neri Naig, in a lengthy post on Instagram.

On Sunday, the singer shared that if he hadn't invested in his wife's interests, they would be at a financial loss during the pandemic.

At first, he mentioned two important points when it comes to saving money:

“Save what you earn and spend what is left, instead of saving what is left after spending what you earn,.

“The 2nd was not to put all my eggs in one basket.”

He explained, “Someone told me to diversify my investments and sources of income.

But the investment shouldn't stop there.

Chito mentioned that it is ideal for couples to invest in one another.

He said, “Another thing I did was to 'invest"' in my wife...not necessarily financially, but more of 'yung time and support she needed for her to succeed on her own.”

Through this method, the singer explained, Neri is now financially secure on her own.

He shared, “Ngayon, mas malaki na sya kumita kesa sakin (even before mawala 'yung gigs!).

“At nung tumigil 'yung tugtugan, at least hindi ako masyado na-stress dahil aside from the fact na nakagawa ako ng mga secondary sources of income, alam ko na kaya kaming buhayin ng asawa ko sa pamamagitan ng pagbenta ng tuyo, suka, kape, at beddings --- pam-bed and breakfast lang eh hahaha!

“I'm proud to say na ako pa rin ang provider. Pero mas proud ako kay Neri dahil sobrang laking tulong niya sa amin because of her online businesses.”

But more than that, it was also his wife who made their dream come true of procuring a house during the pandemic.

Save what you earn and spend what is left, instead of saving what is left after spending what you earn. Yun ang pinaka-importanteng natutunan ko when it comes to handling money. The 2nd was not to put all my eggs in one basket. Dati, whenever I was asked to invest sa isang negosyo, I'd say no because wala akong time para tutukan yung business, because I felt that I needed to focus all my energy sa Parokya since it was my primary source of income, and ang plano ko lang was tumugtog at mag-ipon. Then someone told me to diversify my investments and sources of income...para kung may mawalang isa, may iba akong mapagkukunan ng pera. Nung nag-lockdown, biglang tumigil lahat ng gigs. Kung umasa lang ako sa pagbabanda, wala sana akong ibang mapagkukunan to provide for my family aside sa ipon na sobrang bilis ma-ubos kung hindi nare-replenish. Another thing I did was to "invest" in my wife...not necessarily financially, but more of yung time and support she needed for her to succeed on her own. More importantly, instead of simply saying "ako na bahala sa lahat...asikasuhin mo nalang yung bahay", whenever possible, I would say, "ako muna dito sa bahay...asikasuhin mo yung mga kelangan mo gawin", which gave her the time and energy to focus on her goals.
