READ: Jewel Mische schools followers over #Marriage101

Jewel Mische shared some tips on how to sustain one's marital satisfaction and success.

Former actress and StarStruck season four Ultimate Sweetheart Jewel Mische on Monday posted a lengthy message on Instagram where she shared some insights about marriage.

In her post, the former actress highlighted the shortcomings in marriages and how to gracefully manage it.

It's easy to nag your spouse and focus on what they don't do right. You may even compare them in other relationships you see online and your friends marriage. The truth is, no relationship is perfect and no marriage is perfect. Since we will always be a work in progress (yes, you too) let's work on not being critical of our spouses. Encouragement is powerful to a man. It awakens something in them. It's stimulating. It breathes life. Of course, encouragement is powerful to a woman as well but I think it's different for a man because it's a form of respect. Men NEED respect, and that's why the Bible says “honor” your husband. Encouragement for a man is a form of honor because we are valuing who he is. - Being an encourager has been a very important part of my 5 years of being a wife, I lift him up, I try even if I don't feel like it! I noticed that it's what draws him to me and stimulates him more.❤️ - Instead of nagging, try something different, like appreciation. Elevate your man. What does he do right? Leave him cute little notes in his lunch box as a surprise. Call him randomly during the day and tell him how proud you are of him, when he is doing a task tell him how great he is doing, tell him specific things you like about him - his strength, his emotional stability in hard situations, his protectiveness over you and the one he loves etc. Make it known that you recognize the finer details he may think go unnoticed.❤️ You cannot build and help a person do better while tearing down. So, if the only thing he does right is zip up his zipper, clap and thank God for it! It works!!😊❤️ #Marriage101

For those couples who feels like calling it quits and throw in the towel on your relationships because everything isn't “perfect”... here is some food for thought. • Lifelong commitment is not what most people think it is. It's not waking up every morning to make breakfast and eat together. It's not cuddling in bed until both of you fall asleep. • It's not a clean home filled with laughter and lovemaking, every day. • It's someone who steals all the covers (and snores!). It's slammed doors and a few harsh words, at times. • It's stubbornly disagreeing and giving each other the silent treatment until your hearts heal... and, then... forgiveness! • It's coming home to the same person, every day, that you know loves and cares about you in spite of (and because of) who you are. • It's laughing about the one time you accidentally did something stupid. • It's about dirty laundry and unmade beds without finger pointing. • It's about helping each other with the hard work of life! • It's about swallowing the nagging words. Instead of saying them out loud. • It's about eating the cheapest and easiest meal you can make and sitting down together at a late hour to eat because you both had a crazy day. • It's when you have an emotional breakdown and your Love lays with you and holds you and tells you everything is going to be okay... and you believe them. • It's about still loving someone even though, sometimes, they drive you absolutely insane. • Loving someone is not easy.... sometimes it's extremely hard; but it's amazing and comforting and one of the best things you'll ever experience! • If you are blessed to have a wonderful partner in your life, copy and paste the above, attach the picture of the two of you, and post it. • I want to see couples who bravely make that choice every day to love each other whatever the circumstances may be. • • Thank you @KurzerAlex for choosing to love me.♥️😘 • (Text not mine)

She also stressed that wives should respect their husbands in any way.

“Men need respect, and that's why the Bible says “honor” your husband. Encouragement for a man is a form of honor because we are valuing who he is.

“Being an encourager has been a very important part of my five years of being a wife, I lift him up, I try even if I don't feel like it! I noticed that it's what draws him to me and stimulates him more," she added.

Jewel likewise shared some tips on how to make marriage life more congenial for both parties, especially for the husbands.

Ahh. Expectations. We go into everything with an idea of how we think it should go and if it doesn't.. stress!😆 Just right before this photo was taken, I was agitated because I didn't feel ready for the guests to arrive yet.. There were still a few things that “needed” to get done. I wasn't done cooking.. The slideshow wasn't anywhere close to finished.. there were decorations to be put in place. Hindi pa ako tapos mag ready, I couldn't even find my accessories I was going to wear!!.. And then Alex showed up with an outfit that doesn't match me & baby girl.😆 But I kept reminding myself it's about Aislah, did she get enough sleep.. is she happy, well and healthy..?😌😍😍😍 I am to celebrate that!!😄 Besides, I bet no one person noticed Alex's wrinkled clothes.😆-- I have a rather short list of people to thank for, this one is dedicated to ate @tintinlewis.... thank you so much for all of the love, time, and energy you put into helping me with Aislah's DIY Birthday party, (even in the midst of your exams)!! Thank you for supporting me with my ideas from the very beginning and for actually making them happen! If it wasn't for you, hanggang labas lang ang decorations ko, hindi aabot sa loob ng bahay. Wala din leche flan, macaroons, ube ice cream at kung anu-ano pa! Haha! You definitely are a friend turned family.. and Aislah is so blessed to have you!! We love you!!!🥰😘😘😘💕💕💕 // Thank you to those of you who came.. even all the way from Ohio and Scotland!!!❤️❤️❤️🤗 (Yung romper ang napili ko for Aislah because I figured she would be most comfortable with it, she could crawl and won't get too hot. There was no need for a change of outfit because the parties were short.😄 -- Hindi pa din matapos tapos ung slideshow na gusto ko sana for Aislah.. pls watch my highlights under ONEderfulAislah.. who can help me put it together like a pro for Aislah please?? Thank you.😊) If you made it this far you're awesome.. that was long!❤️❤️❤️#AislahTurnsOne 🎉 #OnederfulAislah 🎈
