The former beauty queen Sandra and PBA player started their love story amid the pandemic. It was in September 2021 when the celebrity couple confirmed their relationship, with Sol professing his love for Sandra in an Instagram post.
He said, “I'm grateful for you and your existence. Keep growing and continue to hold me accountable to grow with you, cheers.”
And after more than five months, Sol and Sandra dropped one big news after another. First, they announced their engagement on March 14. Then, a day after, Sandra and Sol throws another surprise to their fans by revealing that they will become parents soon.

Filipino-American cager Sol Mercado, including his two siblings, was solel raised by their mother Rose Washington after their dad passed away nine years ago. In January 2021, Sol remembered his dad on his death anniversary, “It's been 9 years since you were taken from this temporary world but yet I still feel your presence in my daily life. Thank YOU for the impact and legacy you left on my life. Thank You for teaching me not to take life and the precious moments we get for granted...To say I miss you is an extreme understatement, so much I wish I could do with you and tell you. You would've been 60 today Youngblood!!!”

The veteran PBA guard was the fifth overall pick in the 2008 Draft and he has played in several teams in the PBA like Barangay Ginebra and Batang Pier.

Sandra Lemonon, who is born to a Filipina mother and French father, grew up in Macau. She can speak a several languages including Portugese, Filipino, English, French, Spanish, and also a bit of Cantonese.
Beauty queen
Sandra is one of the most recognizable faces in the local pageant industry. In 2018, she competed in Binibining Pilipinas, where she placed in the Top 15. Then, in 2020, Sandra joined Miss Universe Philippines to represent Taguig City. She finished in the Top 16.

According to a report by PEP.ph, as early as April 2021, there were already speculations about the budding romance between Sandra and Sol. Prior to dating Sandra, the PBA star was engaged to actress Denise Laurel.
