The Ellen Adarna - Derek Ramsay romance has surprised the public once again, this time announcing their engagement through the actress's Instagram account.
Ellen's post caught the public off guard. The two, after all, officially became a couple just in February of this year so an engagement at this point seemed far-fetched.
But love moves in mysterious ways.
Derek has said in a recent TV interview that Ellen is the person that he wants to spend the rest of his life with.
He also confided that he and Ellen have talked about marriage early on in the relationship.
“We talk about it,” Ellen admitted in an interview.
“Sobrang kumportable kaming mag-usap ng mga bagay na would definitely make us tensed in the past,” Derek pitched in.
Ellen and Derek also don't have problems showing off their love and affection in public, opting to ignore cynics and negative comments on social media.
Their engagement proves that their relationship is for keeps and for the long haul.

Whirlwind romance
Ellen and Derek started dating back in January of this year. Their first meeting happened on January 11, 2021 during a dinner party at Derek's house. The two became inseparable since then.
The two confirmed that they are indeed a couple in an interview with PEP.ph on February 26, 2021.
Finding the right person
Derek has been under fire from day one when he and Ellen started posting pictures and videos of them together.
The Kapuso actor had just broken up with actress Andrea Torres in late 2020. Derek's public reputation is that of a playboy and someone who will not settle down.
“'Di ba may reputation ako na ayokong magpakasal, na ako 'yong lalaking ayaw magpakasal? I've always been vocal na, no, I want to. I'm just not rushing it kasi I want to find the right person,” Derek said in an interview with 24 Oras early this month.
“And talking about the future and talking about the 'm' [marriage] word [with Ellen] seems so natural like I have no fear.”

Ellen and Derek are not shy to express their love for each other, often posting pictures and videos of their sweet moments together on social media.
Derek, for his part, apparently has had enough of the bashing from critics and haters.
He posted this quote once on Instagram: “I used to rush to defend myself against false accusations but now I watch to see who believes it, so I know who to cut off first.”

Derek also posted the engagement pictures on Facebook and wrote, “Finish na. Road to forever!” and "Game On" on Instagram.
