Robi Domingo emotional when talking about wife Maiqui's health condition
Robi Domingo celebrated his 35th birthday on Friday, September 27, but his wish wasn't for himself but for his wife Maiqui Pineda-Domingo, who has an autoimmune disease.
In a two-part video uploaded on Instagram, Robi became emotional as he wished for the recovery of his wife.
"First things first, I want Maiqui's sickness to be gone so that we can go back to our original plan. It's my wish for my birthday. It's not for me anymore," he said in the video, turning emotional.
"I'm 35 and I feel so alive."
Robi revealed that, according to his original plan, he should have been celebrating his 35th birthday with a son or a daughter, or maybe twins, one boy and one girl.
However, God has another plan for them as Maiqui has a rare autoimmune disease.
"I'm having some birthday blues. Some people say it's time na nararamdaman mo na, 'Okay, tumatanda ka na,' but it's a time na pwede kang mag-reflect sa buhay mo. And, that's what I am gonna do right now," he said at the start.
"My plan in the next five years is to be a better house-band and husband, and hopefully, next year, when the Lord permits it, and when her condition permits it, depende sa clearance ng doctor, I hope to introduce you to a baby Robi as well or baby Maiqui or why not twins, him, her.
"So, if ever makita 'to ng anak ko, wala ka pa ngayon sa mundo, I am so ready, why am I crying, to give all of my love para sa 'yo."
Holding back his tears, Robi admitted that his wife's diagnosis altered his plan in life. The two disclosed Maiqui's health battles in August 2023, just months before their wedding.
"Alam mo 'yung may plano ka dati, especially I'm a man with a plan all the time, talagang naka-ayos 'yan, but last year was really a blow sa puso ko, and questioned me, 'Ano ba ang nangyayari, ano bang mangyayari' especially with Maiqui, and then nakakakasa na ako na by this year, actually by this month, sana mayroon na akong anak, di ba? But then it happened, it's hard.
"Maybe its not time yet, not yet, but I'm hoping na mangyari 'yun."
Robi Domingo and Maiqui Pineda became engaged on November 4, 2022, during their vacation in Tokyo, Japan. They tied the knot on January 6, 2024.
