Sef Cadayona takes on his first lead role in 'Kaleidoscope World'

We've seen Sef Cadayona in films such as My Kontrabida Girl, Just One Summer, and My Lady Boss, but it is his upcoming movie Kaleidoscope World that he is very excited about. Aside from playing his first lead role, his girlfriend Yassi Pressman will also be his leading lady.

Though they are on different teams in Sunday All Stars, him in Tweet Hearts while Yassi is in Instagang, Sef is happy that they have a project together. "Magkasama kami sa pelikula ngayon sa MMFF. It's called Kaleidoscope World, tribute namin kay Francis M. Sobrang masuwerte namin kasi it started out as an independent movie. Ngayon ipapalabas na nila as a commercial movie for the Metro Manila Film Festival, so I'm very happy."

So how does he feel that this movie was chosen to be the eighth official entry to this year's Metro Manila Film Festival?

"Hanggang ngayon hindi kami makapaniwala. Siguro kasi with the power of Francis Magalona. Lahat 'to eh, kanta, istorya, the way it was photographed, ay talagang tatak Francis M. And every team, even the director and producers, is a big, big fan of Francis Magalona so we're all doing this for him. I think it's a shining moment na, if I'm not mistaken, this is the first dance movie that the Philippines is going to launch. It's well suited for the kids and the teenagers kaya kami, gusto namin ipakita kung ano 'yung naipamahagi ni Francis Magalona sa Pilipinas," he explains.

He went on by describing his character, Lando, and the movie's storyline. "There is this song that Gloc-9 and Kuya Kiko co-wrote, it's called Lando. About ito kay Lando at kay Elsa. They love each other but the thing is, maraming problema na nakadikit kung magsasama silang dalawa. With that being said, it's about family and problems of the family, problems with money, problems about poverty. Pero the good side, it's all going to be interpreted into dance."

Up to now, Sef still could not believe that he is the film's leading man. Pabiro nga niyang sagot, "Oo nga eh, sabi ko nga, komedyante ako eh, height ko pa lang, hello? (laughs) Bawiin na lang natin sa sayaw at sa pag-arte. Gagawin ko na lang itsura ko na matangkad ako. Huwag lang tayo magpa-full shot kasi makikita nila na naka-apple box ako sa eksena, ha?"

Kidding aside, the Bubble Gang mainstay is very grateful for the opportunity and will do his best to deliver. When asked on how he would react if he will be nominated as Best Actor, this is what he has to say. "That would be great! Kasi dito hindi naman ako nagpapatawa, seryoso ang role natin dito. So dito ko ilalagay ang mga naaral ko sa mga workshops through different actors and actresses who taught me how to act."
