Meet Cherry Pie Picache's multi-achiever son Nio Tria
Cherry Pie Picache has established a reputation as one of the most talented actresses in showbiz.
In her more than three decades in showbiz, Cherry Pie has earned several awards from the Gawad Urian, Golden Screen Award, PMPC Star Award, Film Academy of the Philippine, and the Metro Manila Film Festival.
Beyond her impeccable acting resume, there is another role Cherry Pie absolutely loves and that is being a mother to her only son, Jose Antonio Tria, whom she fondly calls as Nio.
The proud celebrity mom has always been proud to share the achievements of her multi-awarded son, who is not just an academic achiever but also a tennis prodigy, on social media.
In 2024, Cherry and Nio celebrated a big win with the latter finally graduating from college.
The promising tennis athlete and Ateneo de Manila University scholar earned a degree in Bachelor of Science in Legal Management.
Mommy Cherry Pie penned a letter for Nio on Instagram expressing her admiration for his son's hard work as a student-athlete.
She wrote, “A student-athlete since prep. Difficult. Remember anak? Lots of homework, late nights. Nevertheless, excelled in both Though more importantly, you never cease to amaze me every day as I continue to witness you grow into a human being who is kind, committed, empathetic, patient, stubborn in the right places, loving, and God-fearing. Maraming maraming salamat anak!!! Truly I am thankful, grateful, and a blessed mother."

Antonio Tria
Former 'Atlantika' actress Cherry Pie Picache considers her son Antonio Tria or Nio as her greatest gift. She gave birth to Nio with her ex-partner Gerry Tria (also known as Gary) on April 28, 2002.

Nio Tria made his mom proud when he graduated with honors at the Ateneo de Manila University. In fact, he finished junior high school in the prestigious school with an academic silver medal and received the Gawad San Juan de Brebeuf sa Katangi-tanging Manlalaro.

Cherry Pie posted this heartfelt message for Nio on his graduation day. She said, “It was no easy feat and you succeeded through your commitment, passion and hard work. You are a blessing my love. Continue on being grateful for your gifts by making full use of them, being a man for others and loving above all our God who is the source of all these.”
Tennis champion
Did we forget to mention that Nio Tria is a tennis champion. This young talent competed at the 2016 International Tennis Federation (ITF) competition in Vietnam where he won in the under 14 doubles category.

Nio also won at the 16U Boys Single at the PCA 2017 National Age Group division in November 2017.
