Style Talk with Carla Abellana

With her classic beauty and elegant charm, actress extraordinaire Carla Abellana makes for an ideal muse. When it comes to turning up the fab, this sassy lady’s style is picture-perfect. Find out what this stunning star’s fashion staples are.

We visited the set of My Husband’s Lover and had a fun chat with the Kapuso actress. In character as Lally, Carla was wearing a floral printed maxi dress and had minimal make-up on during the interview.

We noticed that Lally’s styling has changed from the first few episodes of the series up to the pivotal point wherein Lally discovered her husband’s biggest secret. What did Carla have to say about Lally’s fashion transformation?

“Definitely [she has changed], in terms of her look, she doesn’t curl her hair anymore. Now, mas nagbla-black na siya, although there was a time na tinamad siya,” she said.

Carla believes that Lally’s fashion choices are reflective of her own decisions in life, marking the character’s transition into a stronger woman.

She shared, “Nawalan siya ng gana that time when they had a party, ‘yung anniversary party ng mag-asawang Armando at Elaine. Sabi niya, “I still have to look like the perfect wife. I still have to be presentable in front of our family as if walang nangyari, so balik ayos na naman si Lally. Nag-aayos na siya ulit, pero may kaunting difference lang like she wears pants these days, may mga ganyan.”

Does her own personal style bear any similarities to Lally’s?

“Siyempre, as an artist, we have to be presentable all the time. We have to look good kahit nagpunta ka lang sa mall or mall show lang ‘yan, kailangan maganda pa rin ‘yung suot mo, ‘di ba? So definitely, with the effort, it’s the same. Ganun manamit, kumpleto ‘yung accessories, fully made-up, ganun,” stated Carla.

She also confessed, “Honestly, kapag wala namang trabaho, ‘pag sa bahay lang ako or with my family and friends, I don’t exert as much effort to look as good as Lally, na kumpleto talaga from head to toe.”

Carla perfectly pulls off any outfit because of her classy vibe. How would she define her fashion sense?

“[I wear] lots of dresses, lots of florals and lots of pastels.Feminine ako manamit talaga, pero hindi naman sobrang girly-girly na pa-young,” she answered.

For Carla, it is important for every woman to dress appropriately for her age or for whatever occasion she will attend.

“For my age na din, I have to sometimes dress maturely. Minsan may pagka-corporate ang dating, respectable. It’s feminine pero sophisticated pa rin,” said Carla.
