Geneva Cruz posts then-and-now photos with childhood best friend Jeffrey Hidalgo
Singer-actress Geneva Cruz yet again paid homage to her friendship with childhood friend and fellow former Smokey Mountain singer Jeffrey Hidalgo through a before and after contrast photos of themselves together.
In an Instagram post, Geneva uploaded two photos of them showing their strong friendship and how they practically loved spending summer together through the years.
The first photo was taken in Indonesia in 1990 while the other one was taken on the picturesque island of Boracay in 2021.
She said, “1990 (Indonesia) and 2021 (Boracay) Look what I found, @jepoyhidalgo!!! Miss you!!!”
The post earned positive reactions from netizens who mostly asked both singers to take their friendship to the next level.
Evidently, the Little Princess actress' Instagram shows a lot of bonding moments with the singer. Their friendship began way back in their childhood days when they both became members of the popular country group Smokey Mountain founded by musical maestro Ryan Cayabyab. In the early '90s, they popularized timeless hits such as “Da Coconut Nat,” “Kailan,” “Can This Be Love” and “I Believe in You.”
After leaving the group, Geneva went full-time in her showbiz career. Meanwhile, Jeffrey completed his Chemical Engineering degree from the University of the Philippines and even ranked 11th in the board exams. He continued his singing career and even tried his hands on directing.
