Zeinab Harake defends moms who pamper themselves
Online sensation and new mom Zeinab Harake recently vlogged about her “Balik-alindog 2021 Program” where she had a pamper day to get some much-needed treatments done.
Zeinab went to a salon and get some hair hightlights. She also availed of the salon's eyebrow threading, manicure, pedicure, and scalp treatment for her dandruff.
The vlogger mom who recently received her YouTube Diamond Play Button also had to make adjustments to her manicure, since she needs to make sure that she can freely move and not harm her Baby Bia in any way.
“Okay. So, hindi po ako magpapa-kuko nang malala kagaya ng dati, 'yung Cardi B., ganun-ganun,”
“Hindi ako puwedeng magpa-kuko ng malala kasi may Bia ako.”

During her hair treatment, Zeinab suddenly missed her daughter and clarified it was her first time to leave Baby Bia at home for some pampering.
“Ako, nami-miss ko na si Bia. Kakalabas ko lang ng bahay, kailangan parang kailangan ko nang bumalik.
“Ngayon lang po ako nag-pamper day ha. Baka po husgahan n'yo (ko.) 'Naku, ito nanay na, nag-aano pa.'
“Huwag n'yo po kong sinasabihan ng ganun. Hindi n'yo po alam 'yung pinagdadaanan ko. (giggles)”
Zeinab then emphasized why it's important for moms to have some me-time and pampering once in a while.
“Uy, hindi. Sa totoo lang, sinasabi ko na 'yan. Kapag kayo 'yung mga misis n'yo o mga partner n'yo o 'yung asawa n'yo kung anu-ano, o kahit mag-jowa kayo, 'wag ninyong kontrolin.
"Hayaan n'yo silang mag-ayos para sa sarili nila. Kasi hindi rin naman nila gagawin 'yan para sa inyo o para sa ibang tao. Ginagawa rin nila 'yon para sa sarili nila."
“Kasi mas mukhang presentable tapos nagbu-boost pa ng confidence sa mga kababaihan pagka sobrang linis nila.
“Huwag n'yong basagin 'yung trip nila, 'di ba?”
Zeinab's sister, Ruru Harake, also pointed out that having your nails done is not only about vanity, but also important as part of one's hygiene.

Zeinab then talked about how moms are often judged unfairly when they are seen beautifying or pampering themselves.
“'Yung iba kasi putik. May kilala akong ganun. Seryoso. 'Yung nagli-lipstick lang, 'San ka pupunta?! Ito, akala mo walang anak.' 'Yung mga ganun.
“Siguro dahil laki rin ako sa province, ganun. Parang ganun 'yung kinasanayan ko, kinalakihan ko.
“So, 'wag kayong ganun. Hayaan n'yo lang gawin nila 'yung mga dapat gawin nila. Basta 'wag lang nilang kakalimutan kung ano 'yung dapat responsibilidad nila sa buhay nila.
“Hindi porket nag-gaganito, pabaya na. Hindi ganun.”
Zeinab also clarified that she is also against moms who forget about their responsibilities.
“Pero, dun sa mga nag-gaganito tapos pabaya talaga, ako na po nagsasabi, baka kotongan kita kahit bagong cutix 'yung kuko ko. (giggles) Charot.”
Indeed, moms should find the right balance between caring for their child and pampering themselves. And we couldn't stan a mommy influencer like Zeinab Harake more for standing up for mommies like herself who put importance on self-love and self-care.
