Comelec taps beloved Filipino heroes to rally everyone to register and vote.

The Commission on Election (Comelec) is doing everything to encourage the public to register for the upcoming 2022 election.

So much so that it has solicited the help of renowned Filipino heroes Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, Apolinario Mabini, Melchora Aquino, and Aurora Quezon to rally everyone to exercise their right to vote.

They're doing this through Magparehistro Ka (magparehistroka.com), the fun, interactive website designed with animated versions of our heroes.

Through the portal, the public can easily download forms and be guided on the steps for them to register.

Adding more fun to the website are the funny spiels of the animated heroes using modern languages relatable to the young crowd.

“Pinaglaban naming makaboto kayong lahat so dapat lang achievin n'yo 'to,” Melchora Aquino, and Aurora Quezon said in one of the slides.

“True laban laban kami noon. Kaya dapat bawi bawi kayo ngayon!”

At the moment, more than 59 million voters have registered for the national election set to take place on May 9, 2022.

The Comelec eyes to achieve more than 60 million registered voters for the poll.

Local celebrities including Kean Cipriano, Ria Atayde, Laureen Uy, Macoy Dubs, and Saab Magalona have joined the call for the youth to register and vote.

Speaking of Jose Rizal, take a look at the actors who portrayed the Philippine national hero on screen over the years:
