Paulina Sotto shares her fears about her pregnancy amid COVID-19 pandemic

By Aedrianne Acar
Paulina Sotto on being pregnant now: “Honestly just scared for my life, my loved ones, and our baby.”

“I can't help but be sad about all the experiences that I've lost,”

This is how first-time mom Paulina Sotto described her situation of being pregnant amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The daughter of Eat Bulaga pioneer Vic Sotto and Angela Luz poured her heart out in a lengthy post on Instagram, sharing some of her fears and anxieties of going through her pregnancy during these trying times.

Paulina wrote, “We found out about this pregnancy on January 2, 2020, the day after our third wedding anniversary. I was overwhelmed, a little scared, but happy and excited for the most part.

“As a planner and kind of a control freak, I knew being pregnant for the first time would entail many unexpected and unplanned experiences.

“But never in a million years would I have thought that most of it would be spent isolated and honestly just scared for my life, my loved ones, and our baby. I know in the grand scheme of things that I am one of the lucky ones.”

Luckily for Paulina, her pregnancy has been smooth and her baby girl is healthy.

“My pregnancy has been relatively smooth, and our baby girl has been doing well. I have a supportive husband and mom under the same roof.”

Still, she said that it is extremely sad that she lost so many experiences due to this highly-contagious virus. She also revealed that her husband Jed Llanes might not be able to join her when she even gives birth.

“But I can't help but be sad about all the experiences that I've lost and will never get back.

“I wish I could be with my family and friends, or step outside without worry, or even just have routine checkups. At this point I'm just hoping my husband can be with me when I give birth, but even that isn't looking like a possibility.”

Paulina Sotto ended her post by looking at the bright side and underscored what truly matters for her now: her baby girl is safe.

“If anything, this whole situation has taught me to focus on what truly matters--that our baby is healthy and safe, and that she will be loved and cared for. As long as she is okay, then I'm okay.”

On a lighter note, I'm happy I still got to have this little photoshoot--one of the only “normal” things I've gotten to experience. Thank you so much @niceprintphoto @charissetinionp for making this happen safely in the comfort of our home! And thank you to @deniseochoa and @pauleenlunasotto not just for my makeup + hair but for making the actual shoot super fun and enjoyable💖 Also so happy my mom @angeleyes7889 is home and was back to being a stage mom 😂 Sorry in advance I'll probably post lots of photos--hayaan mo na ako because this is one of the only ways I can share my pregnancy with the outside world 😄

Paulina and her husband Jed tied the knot in 2017 and on January 2, 2020 they learned that she is in the family way.

She also had a maternity photoshoot recently, where her stepmom Pauleen Luna helped her out during the pictorial.
