Meet the members of Filipino boy band BGYO
BGYO, a Filipino boy band composed of Gelo, Akira, JL, Mikki, and Nate, debuted in January 2021 when they release their single "The Light." Their second single, "He's Into Her," won as Best Theme Song at the 2021 Asian Academy Creative Awards.
BGYO's debut album, also titled 'The Light,' broke records when it toppedthe iTunes Philippines' Top 100 albums chart for 12 consecutive days, the longest by a Filipino act so far.
In 2023, BGYO was included in Grammy's listicle titled 'The Many Sounds of Asian Pop.'

The leader of BGYO is Gelo, or Angelo Troy Rivera in real life. Born on April 18, 2001, he is the lead rapper, lead dancer, center, and face of the group.

Gelo's favorite K-Pop groups are Stray Kids, EXO, NCT, BTS, and Twice. Individual, he's a fan of NCT's Taeyong and Jungkook of BTS.
Actor
Before becoming part of BGYO, Akira was an actor, starring in several movies such as 'Sundalong Kanin,' 'Alienasyon,' 'All of Me,' and ''Tol.'
JL
The main vocalist of BGYO is JL, whose real name is John Lloyd Toreliza. He joined GMA Network's singing competition 'The Clash' in 2018.
