P-pop, K-pop fandoms create donation drives for typhoon Carina victims
Filipinos are widely praised for their resilience and solidarity in the face of adversity.
On July 24, the country faced another calamity as many were affected by super typhoon Carina. Several cities, especially Metro Manila, have been declared under a state of calamity due to the severe floods and heavy rains.
In response to the emergency, numerous Filipinos volunteered to donate and extend help to the victims. This included various fandoms, who showed eagerness, kindness, and teamwork in assisting those in need. Many fan groups organized open donation drives to collect contributions and actively reached out to other fandoms across several countries for support.

K-pop PH fans
It's a remarkable and heartwarming initiative for all Philippine K-pop fandoms as they unite for the Hand in Hand PH donation drive. Monetary donations can be sent via e-wallets and bank transfers until July 29.
ARMYs
Filipino fans of K-pop group BTS once again gathered on social media to send donations and organize donation drives. Some even mobilized efforts to spread the word to fans in different countries, aiming to gather sufficient donations for those affected by super typhoon Carina.
JJINGGUs
Fan of SHINee's Onew have joined forces to aid the victims of typhoon Carina. Recently, the group announced their latest project, "JINGGUS CARE: An Open Donation Drive," where they are accepting donations via e-wallets, bank transfers, and Paypal. All funds received will be allocated to their chosen beneficiaries, Angat Buhay and Red Cross Philippines. The donation drive will remain open until August 9, 2024.
CARATs
Filipino fans of K-pop group Seventeen have initiated several donation drives to assist fellow Filipinos affected by typhoon Carina. From group fans (CARATs) to supporters of individual members (like Hoshi's fans), the entire fandom is actively seeking assistance to provide donations to the victims.
EXO-Ls
Collaborating with Seventeen's Filipino fans, EXO's fandom also joined efforts to collect donations for the victims of the typhoon. All contributions will be directed to the Angat Buhay Foundation.
BLOOMs
Fans of P-pop girl group BINI demonstrated kindness and cooperation by opening their accounts for donations. BLOOM Philippines initiated #ProjectBINIyanihan, allowing people to donate via GCash and bank transfers. The donation drive will continue until July 26 and all contributions will be directed to the Tanging Yaman Foundation Inc.
ENGENEs
Fans showed creativity in their donation efforts, as seen with K-pop group Enhypen's fandom, ENGENEs. They initiated an open donation drive to aid victims of super typhoon Carina, accepting funds via E-wallets. The fandom also linked their upcoming fan event, ENGENE Night in Pampanga, where 15% of each slot's proceeds will be donated to the cause.
