Get to know Sarina Bolden, the first PH goalscorer at the FIFA Women's World Cup
Athlete Sarina Bolden is being hailed as one of the latest heroines for Philippines sports after a stellar performance at the first few matches of the FIFA Women's World Cup.
Sarina gave the Philippines its first-ever goal in the Women's World Cup as she scored a 24th-minute header in the match against tournament co-hosts New Zealand.
Her lone goal led the Philippines, who are also first-time tournament participants, to its historic first win in the Women's World Cup.
The Philippines is currently standing 3rd in Group A which consists of Switzerland, New Zealand, and Norway.
The team's next match will see them play against Norway on July 30.
The FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 kicked off on July 20 and will conclude on August 20.

Sarina played her first international cap for the Philippines at the 2018 AFC Women's Asian Cup where she scored the winning goal against hosts Jordan.
Knockout
She also participated at the 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup where the Philippines advanced to the knockout stage for the first time.
