Xu Kai is one of the most sought-after actors in China. He first entered the entertainment industry as a model.

In 2013, he won a modelling contest which kickstarted his career. In 2016, he signed a contract with Huanyu Film and was cast in his first television series titled 'Zhaoge,' where he played the role of Yang Jian.

Then, in 2018, Xu Kai starred in the historical romance drama 'Untouchable Lovers' followed by 'Story of Yanxi Palace,' where he gained recognition with his role as Fucha Fuheng. 'Story of Yanxi Palace' was a huge hit in China and across Asia.

In 2019, he made his big screen debut in the film 'Autumn Fairy Tale.' During the same year, he starred in the youth military series 'Arsenal Military Academy,' winning the Best Actor award at the Hengdian Film and TV Festival of China for his role.

Moreover, 'Forbes' China listed Xu under their "30 Under 30 Asia" 2019 list which consisted of 30 influential people under 30 years old who have had a substantial effect in their fields.

Xu plays the role of Noah in the Chinese romantic drama series 'She and Her Perfect Husband' that is currently airing on GMA-7.
