Taiwanese actress and ageless beauty Joe Chen started her career as a model back in 2001.
She officially entered the entertainment industry after joining a talent show and winning first place.
Her first acting role was a supporting character in a drama called 'Lavender' in 2002.
Joe's first real break was the hit series 'Frog Prince' in 2005 where she played a down on her luck schemer who falls in love with a spoiled and cold-hearted hotel heir who lost his memories.
The series was a massive hit and broke the television ratings record previously held by another hit idol drama, 'Meteor Garden.'
Joe scored another hit with 'Fated to Love You' in 2008 where she starred as an eager to please legal assistant who finds herself in a romantic mix-up with the heir of a large toiletries company.
She received a nomination for Best Actress at the 43rd Golden Bell Awards for her role in the show.
The series also proved to be a massive hit abroad leading Joe to be hailed as the "Queen of Idol Dramas."
It even broke the ratings record of her previous drama 'Frog Prince,' making it the highest rating Taiwanese idol drama.
In 2010, Joe worked with famed international director John Woo in her first film, 'Breaking the Waves.' The movie was a youth-oriented sports film produced for the Asian Games.
In 2013, Joe starred in martial arts series 'The Swordsman' which cemented her popularity in mainland China.
That year, she took the 99th spot in the Forbes China Celebrity 100 list and steadily rose, taking the 65th spot in 2014, the 61st spot in 2015, and the 51st in 2017.
Aside from being an actress, Joe is also a singer. She mostly sings the soundtracks of her own drama series.
Joe will once again grace Philippine television screens with the romantic comedy series 'Love Actually' with Wang Yibo and Tong Dawei.

Reprise
She reprised her role in 'The Woman on the Breadfruit Tree' during its 2015 run and won Best Actress at the 4th Denny Award for International Excellence in Theatrical Arts.
Boyfriend
Joe is dating Alan Chen, a Malaysian abstract painter and entrepreneur. The two met in the second season of the Chinese dating show called 'Meeting Mr. Right' in 2019.
