Before, “screen time” was often regarded as kids watching television. But with the growth of modern technology and the internet, students can now learn a thing or two on YouTube making it the perfect platform for education and entertainment. Here, in no particular order, are some of the perfect YouTube channels for kids to high school students that cover the basics without being boring.
GMA Playground GMA
GMA Playground is GMA Network's digital playing field where kids can learn and have fun through its wide variety of content like fantasy shows, interesting trivia, and facts, to trying out amazing toys and games.
Smithsonian Channel
The Smithsonian Channel is the place for awe-inspiring stories, powerful documentaries, and amazing entertainment. The Smithsonian Channel caters to everything --- from history to wildlife --- there's certainly a video out there for someone to watch.
Jericus de Gamuz

The Brain Scoop
The Brain Scoop YouTube channel is hosted by Emily Graslie, a former volunteer of the University of Montana Zoological Museum, who engages with kids in videos that ask, “Why Did King Tut have a Flat Head?” and “What is a species?”
MathAntics
If you want your kid to be a brainiac when it comes to numbers, may we suggest watching MathAntics. This YouTube channel covers topics from Algebra to Pythagorean Theorem to Decimal Arithmetic. Each video is also only nine to 13 minutes long so your kid won't be bored when learning numbers.

“Lessons Worth Sharing,” that's the motto of YouTube channel TED-Ed, the sister channel of the famous TEDxTalks. TED-Ed is committed to creating lessons for kids and adults by challenging them with perplexing riddles or investigating the wonders of nature with its mind-boggling questions.
The Film Theorists
Join Matpat as he wanders the secrets behind his favorite films and shows using science and mathematics to form theories surrounding his mind-boggling questions. From figuring out the biology of Attack on Titan's Titans to revealing the dark secrets of Disney movies, it covers it all.
Smart Girls
For kids aged 15 and above, they can check out Amy Poehler's Smart Girls channel. It features a long list of videos such as DIY bath bombs and a profile of inspiring women that kids can aspire to. Not to mention, there are also tutorials on manners and how to inspire girls to become more involved in social issues like exercising women's rights to vote.
Wisecrack

In this channel we hang out with friends Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Count Dracula, and so many more beloved characters as they teach kids everything about counting numbers to learning good table manners at home.
