Senator Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel draws the ire of netizens after he violated the Makati Medical Center (MMC) COVID-19 protocol when he brought his pregnant wife Kathryna Yu last Tuesday, March 24. According to the senator, he only learned about the result of his COVID-19 test when he was already in the hospital.

But who si Kathryna De Guzman Yu? In an interview in ANC in 2018, Kathryna said that she met Senator Pimentel for the first time at his victory party in May 2013.
School
Kathryna is the eldest of five children and she spent her grade school and high school days at the Jubilee Christian Academy.
She then studied Business Management at the University of Asia and the Pacific. Mrs. Pimentel also used to own an Italian restaurant and managed food outlets in school right after graduating.
2013
In the same interview with ANC, Kathryna said that her husband was very persistent and would regularly text her and by the end of 2013 they were exclusively dating.
Jewel Mae Lobaton
Before Kathryna married Senator Koko Pimentel, he was married first to Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 1998 Jewel May Lobaton in 2000. The senator and Jewel parted ways in 2011 but it wasn't until September 2013 that Jewel filed for the annulment of their marriage at the Quezon City court. The court granted the annulment in January 2018. They have two sons named Aquilino Martin Emmanuel IV and Aquilino Justo "Akio" Pimentel VII
Angel Locsin

Civil wedding
The two exchanged "I Do's" at The Coconut Palace in Pasay City in October 2018 in a Filipiniana-inspired civil wedding.
1st Anniversary
The day before Sen. Pimentel and Kathryna celebrate their first wedding anniversary, the senator announced that they will be having a baby. He said, "I have known how beautiful you are, inside and out, even before we got married. But now, I have seen how great and wonderful you are, as a person, a wife, a mother to our two boys, and as a soon-to-be mother again to our third child. Thank you for all the sacrifices you are doing for the baby."

In an interview with a TV network, Kathryna Yu confirmed that she has given birth Maria Kathryn Helena or "Leyna," her first baby with Senator Koko Pimentel on March 29. Though, Mrs. Pimentel did not close which hospital she decided to give birth to Leyna.
