Mark Herras addresses hate comments about working in a club: 'This is what I want'
Mark Herras, known as the "Badboy of the Dance Floor," has finally addressed negative online comments surrounding his recent controversial videos.
In a news report by Nelson Canlas, the celebrity dancer confirmed that the video showing him dancing in a gay club was part of his new job.
The trending videos quickly sparked a range of reactions, most of which were critical and hateful. Mark shared that some claimed, "'Ah! Sumasayaw na sa ganyan sa gay bar kasi wala nang career.'" or treated his actions as immoral and unfit for an artist.
To end the controversy, Mark clarified that it was his personal choice to work at the club. "This is what I want 'di ba? Hindi naman ako naghahangad pa na magkaroon ng career na sobrang alam mo iyon, sobrang sikat na sikat na sikat," he explained. "Lagi naman ako vocal about it, gusto ko makapag-provide for my family, lalo na sa mga anak ko."
Mark emphasized that he approached his new job with the same professionalism he applies to any project as an artist and dancer. "Trabaho. Any work na ibato sa akin, i-offer sa akin, as long as alam kong hindi ako lugi sa talent fee at the same time wala ako natatapakang tao, at legal. I'll do it. Why not? E, provider ako. Tatay ako," he said.
The Kapuso star stated that he doesn't waste time reading hate comments and instead focuses on his growing family.
"Sabi ko nga, kung 'yung mga taong ito tina-target nila ako or parang they want my attention, gusto nila mag-react ako ng malaki, sorry. 'Di ba sabi ko lahat ng klaseng intriga na ibato na sa akin. So parang 'yung mga ganyang klaseng atake or issues, wala nang epekto," Mark said.
Currently, Mark focuses on providing the best for his family, especially with the exciting news that they're expecting their second child.
His last television project with GMA was the hit afternoon prime series Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap where he captivated fans with his versatile acting as one of the villains.
