Zozibini Tunzi
Zozibini was born in Tsolo, Eastern Cape, South Africa. She later moved to Cape Town to attend Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
Miss South Africa
Zozitunzi was crowed Miss Universe-South Africa on August 9, receiving 1 million rand (around 3 million pesos), a brand new car, and a condominium unit in Johannesburg.
Miss South Africa 2017
But before representing South Africa at the Miss Universe, Zozibini first joined Miss South Africa in 2017 where she placed in the top 26.
New York Fashion Week
In fact, after she was crowned Miss South Africa, Zozibini walked at the New York Fashion Week.
First time
It was also Zozibini's first time to fly outside of South Africa when she went to New York.
United Nations
While in New York, Zozibini sat in a United Nations discussions surrounding gender equality and gender-based violence.
Mouawad Crown
With her win in the Miss Universe, Zozibini is also the first woman to be crowned using the Mouawad Crown, also known as the "Power of Unity" crown.
