Meet the new Kapuso leading lady, Thia Thomalla

Cynthia Magpatoc Thomalla or Thia Thomalla is the new beauty queen in the Kapuso network.

Thia is the first Pinay to win Miss Eco International in 2018.

She completed the list of Miss World queens in GMA when she followed the footsteps of Wyn Marquez, Laura Lehmann, and Sophia Senoron.

The beauty queen's advocacy is sustainable tourism and responsible traveling. In an interview in April 2018, she disclosed that she wants travelers to learn how to be mindful of their actions. She said, "I want the world, the travelers, to know how to be responsible when traveling like bringing metallic straws to lessen the use of plastic, and also helping the locals when it comes to the environment."

Now that she wants to pursue an acting career, she revealed that she will work on creating a name for herself and not just be known as Anne Hathaway's look-alike. "It's also really flattering and at the same time I also want to prove to people that I am not Anne Hathaway. I am Thia Thomalla and I can be my own. Motivation ko rin na sana maabot ko 'yung naabot ni Anne Hathaway.”

Thia disclosed that she's looking forward to work on teleseryes and movies in the future.

Thia was one of the hosts for GMA News TV's makeover show 'Glow Up,' together with fellow beauty queens Winwyn Marquez and Michelle Dee.

Thia shares that one of her dream roles is to portray a Filipina version of 'Princess Diaries' where she will play Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway.
